Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers
Beantown may get on me for this (I hope not literally) but I am actually almost (almost, because Chuck Norris would never well up)
shedding tears here.
You people are really genuinely good people.
I do believe a small prayer or thought will help me, so thank you
I will beat this like Marcus Vick would a Louisville D lineman...
Thank you so much,

Hokie Fan

(BTW its non Hodgekins lymphomia for those who asked)

i have a good deal of experience with patients similar as yourself and although i can't feel personally what you have been through, can definitely somewhat relate

the marrow/stem cell rescue is definitely not any more pleasant than chemoradiation...keep us in touch with your progress

many live more in a day than some do in decades....i trust you have learned to do so yourself

Get your head right. You are in the fight of your life, literally. Someone before said to visualize. I can't agree more. The power of the human mind to heal or aid in the healing process is unreal. Don't be afraid to be afraid. As long as the fear does not paralyze you it can make you fight harder. You are in my prayers.

Now get it done.

Hang in there, Hokie Fan. We are going thru something similar with my mother in law, it really stresses out my wife. So I know what you mean when you say you get cranky sometimes.

Believe me no one here has anything but respect for you and here's hoping things go easier for you in your recovery from this awful disease.

Good Luck my friend.

Again I just want to thank each and everyone of you for your thoughts and prayers....
This out pouring truely has moved me.
Getting bad news as I did really makes you feel alone and your emotions run the gamut.
Just to read some of the kind things you all have said is really touching me
If it all goes bad and I take a Jason Kendalls foot twist for the worse I plan to take all my left over cash and fix one game..
I will post it under INSIDE INFORMATION and GOTCentury LOCK OF the Millinium so to ensure you all take it very seriously....
Again guys (and gals)
Thank you so very much

I didn[t want this public, but here it goes.
Hokie Fan, I too, was stricken with Cancer. I was diagnosed in 2003 as terminal. I sought a second opinion here in California and went thru a 2nd tumor board only to have them concur....terminal. The doctors estimated I had around 8 mo's-2 years to live.

I had 38 sessions of radiation and 2 boasts. I concurrently had 3 sessions of Chemo and another 3 later. The Chemo is a tough one, but the drugs they gave me eased the nausea to a point it was palatable.

Just this past January, I underwent an 9 hour surgery to replace my mandible with a bone from my leg. 8 days in ICU, skin grafts, etc.

I went for my usual checkup last week....and NO CANCER.
I'm telling you this, because I'm living proof that this horrible disease can be beat. I hope you have a strong support group....it will come in handy, if not necessary. I anguished with my family as I saw them try to cope with the idea that I may be gone. I saw my Dad cry for the first time in my life. I cuddled and cried with my g'friend as we attempted to discuss "her" future. I had friends from high school come by to see me (mainly thinking it was paying last respects).

My ordeal has lasted 3 years, but the outcome looks excellent. I have started playing golf again and I'm gaining back the weight I lost.

If I can answer any questions or be of any help, I want you to call me.....anytime, day or night.

I'm revealing this now, to you, because you will need all the support you can get, and this is from someone who has endured your pain and is a fellow Madjacks member. The members here are very compassionate as evidence by the outpouring of affection to "Box"s friend, Herb, as well as the number of posts regarding Jack's Dad.

One side note. Thanks to Agent0659 for not mentioning my health problems prior. He was the only one here that was aware of my operation, because I wasn't able to fully participate in the Golf contest the 1st 2 weeks. I owed him an excuse and therefore revealed my circumstance.
