Hey, if I don't use it all up I lose it. And I'm not going to lose it I don't work for the government, have some friends that do. I don't though. Those government workers basically go to work, do nothing, and collect a paycheck.

Hey John,

I see you recall my comments showing my distaste of cruises..lol...

I stand by them, and that's as a local who doesn't have to get on a plane just to get herded onto a ship and go stir-crazy and get sick of bumping into the same 80 year olds after about 2 days.

They're wildly popular though, especially the Carribean cruises like the one that you're taking and I hope that you have a great time.

You mention that you guys aren't leaving out of Florida. Where are you leaving out of?

They will easily avoid any storms, even if it's on an alternative itinerary. You can't base your plans around hurricane season.

Thats what I was thinking too, but got a great deal 2 oceanfront balconies for $1500 (total). Also, I can drive there and don't need to fly. So I'll take it, plus the ship is highly rated.

kniefl, not knowing what you like, who you are going with, etc., I can only speak from experience. The balcony deal is WELL worth the money, ESPECIALLY if you have 4 days at sea. My wife and I have done it both ways, inside cabin and balcony, and we would never go back "inside." Many times we would grab some drinks and sit on our balcony playing cards, soaking up sun - or avoiding it - depending on mood. At night we often left the door to the balcony open and let the natural air come in - really nice. The balcony with open shades and the door makes your room seem twice as big.

As for the cruise line, we like Carnival better than Norwegian - our only two cruiselines so far. They have more spontaneous things to do on board ship - which also is important with 4 days at sea. The main entertainment was better on Norwegian, but more "fun" stuff to do on Carnival. Unless you just want to hide and not be bothered...you can find places on the ship to do that, or just hide on the balcony.

I found the "people" watching to be better on the Carnival ship, if you like that. Plenty of pretty things to look at onboard.

To each their own. Have a wonderful trip. I love cruising, so to speak.
