Just got done playing the hardest SOB I've ever encountered and don't want no more.
Valhalla not near as tough. Name of it is Olde Stone--been open year and a half. Tight- long and unbelievable rough and undulation in greens.
Since none of us were members they sent spotter with us to track ballsand could understand why after 1st few holes-- Greens have underground watering system.
Course record to date 1 under by Kenny Perry--he's played it twice.
If you think I'm Bull Shitting call them and ask them
270 393-4653 then #2 for clubhouse.

----and don't ask me what I shot.

Tell them how beautiful it is though. Also, aren't we going to get a LPGA event there this year? It's in awesome shape as well for only being 2 years old isn't it?

Yep Clint it is absolutely gorgeous--mind boggeling how they got it that mature it such short. PJ has indoor and outdoor teaching facilites.Don't know if you know Pete Murhurin (spl) but had wedding out there last week for his only daughter to tune of a reported $280K.

--Was looking for slope rating on card and didn't see one--asked spotter and he said not rated yet? Was wondering where you got that one. Would venture they adjust rating in future if one you have is correct.Would probably rate Perrsimon Ridge as tougher course in Ky than Vallhalla by a tad.

Has been bugging me since I played--was thinking about last night and there are no level lies on course--many holes blind holes, which should make 2nd time around around easier. If they have LPGA event here I flat out guarantee you the LPGA would make them cut rough to avoid embarrassing them. If in rough which I was at least 50% of time you just have take your medicine and wedge it out. Had pretty good high school team player with us that refused to "just get it out" and no telling what he shot.

I have to wonder why they set course up so tough--the members can not enjoy playing it--and no way to play it in under 5 hours--unless you have 4 very good golfers and adhere strickly to 5 minute search rule.Aside from putting one in bad frame of mind it is a killer on swing tempo when you manage to hit fairway--after having to try to muscle it out of rough all day-was for me anyway.

Thanks for link doc.

Agent things hectic for next couple weeks with taking week off end on month (Vegas).

I should really be one to make trip up there as I promised Jack since he was here last time.

We'll try and work something out one way or another in July.
If you do come here--I will put you and Jack at hotel next to course Jack,Dawg and played last time.Would be fair match with us on regular tees and you on tips :)

as far as Olde Stone Course--not sure I wish to tackle it again(will have nightmares for long time)--but would enjoy watching you tackle it if you wish--While can't comment on one I have not seen play I will say this--got about 6 country clubs in surrounding area and I'd give any club champion odds at busting 80.
Believe we would have much more fun playing Crosswinds
--and no $98 green fees + $78 spotter fee ;)

Have you guys from Ky been down to play the Tennessean? Its outside Pairs and sounds like this course. Very hilly, several blind tee shots, very tough undulating greens. I think now rated best public course in state, that or Stonehenge. Not much rough, just lose your ball if it where the rough is supposed to be. I used to be a scratch, I played pretty well and shot 81. Tough to play first time with the blind shots and when you hit fairly long, it goes a long way out of play sometimes!

We didn't play the tips, but Wolf Creek in Mesquite nevada was 75.4 and 154 from back there. It was by far the most visually impressive course I've ever seen. Needed a Sherpa and some yaks to get from hole to hole. Worth the drive if you have a rental next time you are in Vegas.

Dunclock Will have to check it out--have played Stonehenge several times --the back to back straight down hill par 3 and next par4 over lake are quite scenic.Only complaint is cart path only most of time--which can be a bear.
Was looking up more on Olde Stone and see they have junior open qualifier there next week.

If they don't cut the rough it's going to get ugly. The only 2 benefits I can see for this course are wagering someone that never played it--or taking your wife to play it so she will give up the game. I have been corrected on one issue--Kenny Perry has played it 4 times and best score 1 under.Have aquaintance Adam Gary that is pro--plays mini tours and PGA monday qualifiers who has played it numerous times and best score 76--I'm here to tell ya--I've seen nothing like it.
