as a former papa John driver... I willsay --- pizza delivery guys aint hurting for money.
I was clearing about 23-25 an hour and that was delivering to college kids and middle class america.
most pizza drivers will get an hourly wage of $5 or 6/hr.
Then, we got 5% of our total order for the night. so if we delivered 500$ worth of pizzas that night, we got $25.00 which was supposed to cover gas/maintenance.
then tack tips on top of it. most people tipped the spare change and a dollar or 2. If it was a bigger order (3 or more pizzas) i could expect a 5-8$tip.
When I turned on the charm, I could get between 4 and 8 from housewives/moms.
