for those that don't know. card protectors are the objects players use to place on top of their hole cards during a hand so another player or dealer won't pick them up by mistake.

so far i am bringing with me for luck?

- a one ounce liberty $50 gold coin

- a one ounce silver bar with the ace of spades on one side and "madjacksports.com - MadJack" on the other side.

- an old chip from The Dunes with a pic of the Rat Pack on it (my dad's favorite guys).

- a chip from The Palms with "Jack Lives Here" on it.

- and i'm thinking about bringing my dad with me. he was creamated and we all have a 3" urn with some of his ashes in it. I won my seat on dad's birthday and if anybody would be more excited about me playing the ME he would have been.

any other ideas?

btw, "for those that don't know". is it proper to say for those THAT don't know or for those WHO don't know?

:142smilie

thanks

I like to use a 3.5 inch 12 gauge shotgun shell as my card marker.

For you, those all sound good, but I would take a picture of your dad instead of the urn.

it's not a bullet, and you can put a shell in with your checked baggage, no problem. I think a pic of you and your dad would be great.

Ok, you guys are probably right. Aside from the beach, i'm really not much of an 'outdoorsy' person. Shell/bullet - tomato/tomoughto.

My interest in 'bullets' was probably reflected every six months in the army when we had to qualify at the range. Many times I would fail and have to retake it over and over. Sometimes I would get lucky and score the lowest possible passing level. That usually happened when the person scoring me was a buddy.

When we were at a range with automated scoring, I was screwed.

And my M-16 always seemed to jam about 10x more than anybody elses. Not sure what that was all about. It might have had something to do with the level of cleaning I gave it. Not sure.

Kosar, you were in the Army. I can't believe they would let anyone in the Army that puts ketchup on a hot dog :142smilie :142smilie :mj07: :mj07:

I also have a small silver bar I got as a groomsman gift once but I'm scared sh1tless of losing it.

However I use a small medallion given to me by a friend of mine that died in Afghanistan in February 2003. He was with the CIA and they give out these medalions as service awards, that kind of thing, and they are real heavy and most of them have neat logos on them as well. He gave it to me one of the first times I met him at a game so its a cool thing and good memories and mojo for me at the tables.

Jack,

I have never offered this before, but I would be willing to let you borrow Pookie the Penguin. Thats what I have always used, and I have been offered a grand for it. Alot of guys dont even know my name, just you know, penguin guy that sells insurance, they all call me by my nickname which has never been said on here and Im keeping it that way.

I will never forget the night I came back from the bathroom and someone had stolen Pookie. I climbed up on the poker table and laid down, and said we wont play another fing hand until I get my bird back....Kosar would have loved that one :mj07:

You're amusing, if nothing else.

Yeah youre right, I made it up

I could go through the process of getting it verified by other people who post here, who know the guy, one of which was even there that night. Or maybe I could go through the process of proving I do dress nicely (suit) most days, or that Im a good golfer, or whatever your problem is today. The bottom line is Kosar, you seem to be a miserable f*ck...guys like you find it hard to swallow that there are guys like me...people with talent, people who accomplish things, and guys who pass you in the right lane of life, because you wont get the fu*k out of the way. Most people have something fairly ammusing or interesting as their quotes, but not ole Kosar...hes got Agent0659 quotes! I wonder if you have a little penis envy going on there pal? Find a new dartboard you little dork...

No, not 'penis envy', my man.

Start talking about 'Pookie the Penguin' envy and you might be on to something.
