I'm with DSI, Pinnacle and 5dimes. All have assured me they don't sell customers info. Someone does because I just got a call from "Steve" at "Sports Marketing" in San Diego.
This was at my business. I've only given that no. in my personal info. to the mentioned books.

Not railing on you, just pissed to get the call.

Didn't someone else have this happen a few months ago? Jump in here if you did and let me know if it's still happening.

I just got one from Wagerweb, and I've had 2 from sports services in the last week also. Just typical for this time of the year imho.

it wouldn't make sense for a sportsbook business to sell their customer base with all the competition they have out there and how expensive it is for them to aquire new customers.

that said, there are many crooks in this business that possibly work for the sportsbooks and have access to that information and it wouldn't surprise me if they steal and sell.

who knows?

i don't blame you for being pissed, i would be too.

DSI used to be known for that. Not saying it's them, but if those are the three choices(DSI, 5 dimes and pinnacle)......

If 'sports marketing' is a tout service, then it makes perfect sense for a book to give out names/numbers.

Get ready for the calls from sports people trying to sell there picks-its football season and you can bet the first week of pre-season the calls will be rolling in.

i've been getting phone calls from a tout for 1.5 years who identifies himself with wager web.

i called ww numerous times & each time they assured me it wouldn't happen...but the calls kept coming...

i finally had enough & contacted, via e-mail somebody who deals with ww & he forwarded my e-mail to the owner of ww..& a message came back telling me that the owner assured my contact that the calls will stop.i was given the owners e-mail address to write to him if the calls keeps coming.

i think it's only fair that i give out the owner's e-mail address here for others who keep getting annoying tout phone calls.

so if anybody is fed up with getting phone calls from wager web touts send an e-mail to....

Dave@wagerweb.com & tell him that you want the calls to stop.

evidently these type of books think it will help their business by giving these numbers out...but i think the opposite happens.

other than scotty at bet jamaica & a few other books these books are awful in promoting their business & don't care how they treat their customers. but i guess there are so many people looking to bet...that it doesn't really matter how books run their business.

Can sympathize with those hounded by calls. Back when I used to play foots a lot I was always bombarded by mail from spammers and would get a few calls also. My address listed at books I used was p.o. box so in effort to find where all the solicitations were coming from I put coded street address above P.O. box at each book so I could see which book was giving out to spammers by observing address they mailed me.Ended up 99% of spam in mail was given out by books under same family umbrella--believe it was Starnet familyback then if I'm not mistaken.
On phone solicitations--once I quit betting foots I rarily got any and if I did would be pleasant and explain I bet exclusively golf and never got call back from same person.

careful how you treat these calls. My brother-in-law got nasty with one caller and he sold his number to every tout he knew and told them he was a laydown(easy to sell). He started getting 30 calls a day at his work place and he got fired after 3 weeks of those calls that didn't stop.......

Kosar - DSI was my latest book so would make sense.

Dogs - I'm going to try that about golf betting.

D-47 - I'm going to try DTB's approach because I was pretty nasty to the guy that called me. "Where'd you get this no.?" "Phonebook." "BULLSHIT! Take me off your list and don't ever call this no. again." You're right, I might get more calls.

It might be DSI. I opened an account with them during basketball season. Sometime in May the wife says there is a message on the machine from some guy in Oklahoma that had a lock for me in baseball. I never ever got a single tout call at this number until I signed on with DSI. I asked them about it and they told me it was their policy to never do such a thing. Needless to say wife wasn't impressed and I am not either. If I wanted some asswipes pick I would have called you. The only reason I joined DSI was because it was recommended by someone here, that's is all I'm saying. I know it is not his fault, I guess it is mine for what Agent mentioned about giving out my real number.

I have two phone lines, one dedicated to the internet and the other regular calls. I always give them the internet number...no calls.
