we will be having a SPONSORED series of poker tournaments coming soon. we have sponsors, great prizes and organized by madjacksports along with several sponsors.

I was in vegas when the threads about having tournaments was started so i'm not stepping on toes of the ones that have tried organizing these things.

i'd rather have all contests on this site sponsored by advertisers and organized by us so there isn't problems with members exchanging monies (there always seems to be problems with these member organized events).

please post all suggestions and ideas in this thread and we'll get them organized and started soon.

Maybe something along the Poker Superstars format, Stars already has a point system for their tournaments, so it shouldn't be hard.

Boys, we got to get this started. I cant stand playing against the donkeys on there these days.....I got to get some people that know what they are doing. It is painful......getting called down with bottom pair and knocking down 2 outers with 2 to go is getting old......

let's hear some ideas on some ongoing tournaments, how to earn your points in the standings based on you finish, the size of the field, tourney format, prizes etc.

if we have a 25 week season, let's make it so a person will still have a chance to accumulate points should he miss several or many tournies, etc.

phenom? any ideas, i want to get this going asap with multiple sites, multiple prize awards, etc.

This is what I posted in other thread. Some comments do not apply now.

$200 Entry fee for season
10 tourneys played per person
$5 Buy-in per tourney (taken from entry fee)
$45 (minus Stars fee) Prize pool per weekly tourney (1st place paid only)

Example Season Prize Pool (20 players - $3,000)
1st Place $1,800 (60%)
2nd Place $900 (30%)
3rd Place $300 (10%)

*This is outside of the $45 paid per weekly tournament

PokerStars has 9 players per table max, correct?

Scoring per weekly tournament
1st - 20 points
2nd - 15
3rd - 11
4th - 8
5th - 6
6th - 4
7th - 2
8th - 1
9th - 0 points

Other rules:
-Table seatings assigned round-robin at beginning of season
-No-show is a forfeit
-Switching tables is allowed for scheduling
-Player who is assigned to table is responsible for finding replacement
-If switch is submitted and approved, then requestor is responsible for new table assignment
-Set a specific night per week
-Weekly will have set time but can be rescheduled with unanimous vote by table
-Points accumulated through season
-Top 9 scorers will move to final table
-Chip count based on final tally of points (is this possible at Stars?)
-No ideas on tie-breaker if more than one person is tied for 9th

So Far it looks like people want a small buy in each week,

we could have $10/15 buy in each week and have a super tournament every month or every other month, where the buy in is doubled or tripled...

Plus maybe a free roll every other month...

If it is going to be 25 weeks spread out over several sites, then maybe break it down, where only your top 15/18 finishes count, in case you choose not to play at one site or another...

Or you could have a site winner from each site, and then an overall winner.

Or you could have the top 3 finishers from each site compete in a final table at the end for big cash prizes...

Depends on how many sites I guess, ready and willing to help though, the polls I did should close Saturday morning...

for risk of sounding snobbish, i don't want to participate in a bunch of $5 buy in's. But if you do one monthly one for a couple hundred or more i'm down if you get any interest.

or if theres any interest in a weekly cash game set up at a private table that would be fun too.
