The author of a recent e-mail to Bovinia seemed to take great delight in chiding me for my inappropriate use of units in association with my plays. Feigning confusion, the writer correctly assumed that the number listed after my W/L record was not meant to indicate the amount of money won or lost, but rather the net number of units.
Of course, I assured her (I only get mail from dames. Go figure) that I had made this perfectly clear in the beginning, but I had to confess that little or no mention had been made of it since. So, I guess what I?m getting? at is this; when you see something like 130-17 +10830, it is not to be construed to mean that I am up 10,830 dollars. I admit that any puzzlement brought on by this presentation of the facts is due purely to my own laziness. However, as this broad so happily pointed out, mostayuz mighta assumed that said laziness resulted in my omission of the dollar sign. Au Contraire, mon amie. The omission was merely a dot, a period if you will, or more precisely, a decimal point. So the example featured above, if shown correctly would read 130-17 +108.30 units. And no, I am not prepared to divulge the size of my unit, leastwise not to the likesa you. So uh, please don?t ask.

Buoyed by the resultsa the last two games, I am once again proclaiming the Portland Trail Blazers the finest example of team basketball on the planet. Any trepidation I have concerning tonight?s ballgame, of course, has long ago been washed away by countless waves of alcoholic beverages, so uh, be careful, ya follow.
If memory serves, the aforementioned trepidorial concerns were over the ability of Arvidas Sabonis to bounce-back after playing a ton of minutes on Friday and, I hate to say it . . . the referees. I mean, just how badly does the NBA and NBC want the Lakers in the Finals, huh? It?s a little frightening to consider. Remember this, though, if the game is close at the end, LA will fold like a stacka C-notes in a pimp?s pocket. You heard it here first.
