No one said pure passer, the statement was VY is a MUCH better college QB.

To say the Smith is close to VY is just silly.

VY is one of the greatest college QBs ever to play. Are you saying that is what Smith is as well?

I believe he will be by the end of the year. If Bucks run the table, he will be the Heisman winner. But I don't think Smith or Young will do anything great in the NFL.

Right Here Kosar. To me that is a homer statement & a bit rediculous.

THe Bucks won a huge game & you guys should enjoy it, you deserve it.

After watching the game again, purely for information purposes, I saw that Smith wasnt very accurate when he was pressured. He threw alot of wild passes and the passes that were caught (mainly by #11) were not on the money but the texas secondary was no where to be seen. Also Smith was just avg at avoiding the rush and getting rid of the ball. Smith definitely settled down in the second half but I wouldnt say he was deadly accurate as Ginn had about 3 steps on Texas when he caught that 1st half TD.

Ginn was VERY impressive throwing on the run though, and had a very strong and sharp ball. But all in all there were things I was impressed with Smtih about and then there were times where I wasn't too impressed.

To say that Smith will even be close to VY after an undefeated season would be a stretch.

Please take off the homer glasses.

No one is talking about the NFL, although I can guarantee you Troy Smith has a 0% of being a top 3 pick like VY.

Just so I have this straight....you think Troy Smith is going to go down as one of the best QBs to ever play college football????

:nono:

3Seconds, maybe I should've worded my reply a bit more carefully so that you could understand what I meant.

I was implying that I think that Troy Smith will be every bit as good as Vince Young by the end of this season. I should have stated that.

I also should have stated that in response to this quote that I do not believe Vince Young is one of the greatest college QB's to ever play! TAKE OFF YOUR HOMER GLASSES!!!

Vince Young is a great athlete, he made great plays when it counted, and he helped a VERY TALENTED TEAM win a national championship. That does not place him among the greatest ever! Craig Krenzel did all of those things in 02, but he definitely is not one of the greatest college QB's ever.

As I stated in another Texas/OSU thread, I believe that Troy Smith is just as talented as Vince Young. Vince Young is more of a physical speciman due to his size. But I don't think either one of them will be worth a darn in the NFL.

Well we have to disagree. Troy Smith doesnt have anywhere near the talent of VY.

Its not just me, numerous folks say VY was one of the very best to ever play & that Rose Bowl is considered one of if not THE best single game performance EVER...all things considered.

Without VY Texas isnt even in a BCS bowl.

I don't agree with Bobby that Smith's focus on the pass, rather than the run, will cost them a game. He makes 10x the amount of plays/completions after he *could* have run than it would have happened that it would have been better for him to run. If that makes any sense.

None at all, but I guess you like him throwing.

What are you most worried about? At Kinnick, at E.Lansing or hosting Michigan with Carr's job on the line? Lots of potholes out there for the Buckeyes especially with the OLines in the Big 10

OSU whiiped Texas...that said they sure looked like a beatbale team to me....they may get through the Big 11, not sure, but I dont see them beating a USC/ND/ type team for the marbles...that defense is very beatable...

agreed. OSU whipped 'em and Texas beat themselves at the same time.

I think the OSU defense will improve over the season, so teams need to take their shots now before they start to gel. By the end of the year, they could be a better overall squad.

It was kind of hard to describe, but I think if in the middle of a play, he has a chance to run or pass, the pass will be a better option most of the time with him.

Kinnick worries me. Michigan in Columbus does not and East Lansing does not either.

These hats have been ordered for delivery to the addresses you provided.

Hook 'em Horns!

Thanks, man! Not that I would have a doubt in the world about you coming through, but not everybody knows that.

Hook 'em horns the rest of the year. They haven't hooked too much to date. :SIB

Got the hat, and I love it. I rarely check mail(for what??), so it could have been here 2 weeks ago and I wouldn't have known it.

Whatever the case, thanks!
