The auditors that filed these suits went into government auditing under Reagan and Bush I, not Clinton.

This isn't a liberal vs. conservative issue.

Chavez and Ahmadenijad were both democratically elected. Chavez twice.

See, that's part of the reason why nobody believes us anymore when we say we are trying to spread democracy. If someone is democratically elected and they strongly criticize us, all of a sudden they become a dictator.

Very good nick. i was gonna say this also but i drifted elsewhere. In weasals eyes everyone that hates us is a dictaor. So there are about 100 percent dictaors around the world. geez even Canada said we deserved to be whack after 9/11. Our Dirty goverments just cant seem to stay out of others business.

Twice? Shit, that's news to me.

Once with 35% of votes in 1998, promising entitlements to the bums that don't want to work, houses to everbody, etc... and still got only 35%... in a country where voting is mandatory and only 50% of voters went to the polls.

He was then voted out of office but Jimmy Carter stuck up for him saving his ass, and his state owned computer voting machines acquired 6 months before the referendum. This in a 3rd world country where people vote with an ink stamp on a party which is assigned a particular color 'cause of so much illiteracy. Oh, and the referendum was "Yes" or "NO" to oust him, but they needed brand new computers, fingerprint verification machines to browse a total database of millions of fingerprints and also phone lines connected through the state owned phone company to transmit the data with no paper trail.
But Katherine Harris did something irregular?

Definitely a Chomsky deam! All the maxists united against the will of the people.
And days after that Jimmy "the commie" Carter was concerned about future elections if Florida? Shit, you marxits are really screwed up and convenient.

Where do you guys come up with these things? :sadwave:

Chavez Repeats 'Devil' Comment at Harlem Event

Thursday, September 21, 2006

NEW YORK ? Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, appearing Thursday at a Harlem Church for an oil-for-poor event, repeated his 'devil' reference hurled a day earlier at President Bush during a speech at the United Nations.

"They told me that I should be careful after I called him the devil ? and I think he is the devil ? because he might kill me" Chavez told a crowd packed into the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Harlem.

"But, I place myself in the hands of God," he said.

Chavez, who was introduced at the podium by activist-actor Danny Glover, was visiting the church as part of ceremonies to announce the sale of discounted home heating oil to qualified low-income families.

The appearance came a day after Chavez delivered an insult-riddled speech at the U.N. General Assembly in which he called President Bush the 'devil.'

As Chavez spoke in Harlem, U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel railed against the Venezuelan leader for choosing his New York congressional district to launch an attack on the president of the United States.

"You don't come into my country, you don't come into my congressional district and criticize my president, " Rangel said from Capitol Hill.

He added that "it would be crazy to think that Americans do not feel offended" by Chavez's remarks.

New York Governor George Pataki called for a united front by Americans from all political parties to stand together against Chavez.

"This person has no right coming to our country to criticize our president," Pataki said in a phone interview on FOX News.

"He can take his cheap oil and do something for the poor people of Venezuela."

In Harlem, the crowd chanted in Spanish, "Chavez, Chavez, the people are with you," as he walked into the church dressed in his signature red shirt.

Chavez called Bush a "sick man" who was "very dangerous because he has so much power."

He again waved a copy of the book, "Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance," written by American leftist writer Noam Chomsky, and at one point left his long, rambling talk to read passages aloud.

On several occasions, he tried to make the point that he was a good friend of Americans, and that the Bush administration was painting him as the enemy.

"I pray that the American people will elect a president we can negotiate with," Chavez said, claiming that he loved the American people, but that it was difficult for him to visit the U.S. because he was "threatened."

The Venezuelan strongman spoke of his alliance with Cuba, a country he said had "been choked" by the U.S., and of his close friendship with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Chavez said their cooperation had improved the lives of Cubans and Venezuelans alike.

The event, one of a series designed to boost the Venezuelan leader's popularity in the U.S., was organized by Citgo, a Houston-based energy company that is owned and controlled by the Venezuelan government.

Citgo, in partnership with Citizens Energy, a program run by former U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy II, sells and distributes discounted home heating oil to low-income families.

Venezuelan officials and Citgo employees handed out T-shirts before the event with the name of the program ? "From The Venezuelan Heart To The U.S. Hearths" ? printed across the front.

Chavez claimed the Citgo program would benefit over 450,000 American families over the winter months, and that it was made possible because the program cuts out the "greedy capitalist element."

"That's another thing we're doing with this Bolivarian Revolution," he said referring to the name he has given his economic platform. "We're transferring the power to the people."

when you have asswipes like Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte praising you, and your already delusional, i thinking what do you expect. I am really starting to dislike all three.

I'm glad all of the liberals agree with Chavez that Bush is Satan. Jesus - this country is in real trouble. Even when Clinton was President I would never tolerate some jackass from another country call him Satan. So much for standing united, it seems like most of the anti-Bush would rather root for the enemies than support our President.

I'm with the Conservatives on this jackass. Chavez and Ahmadinejad are not even comparable to our worst presidents.

It's insulting to every American and our entire government for Chavez to stand in New York City and call our president Satan.

It actually says a lot about our country that he can say it and is not bum-rushed out. He can say whatever he wants, but all sides of American politics should still be insulted.

That said, not sure why the immediate reaction of so many here on the right is to blame the left. ....Uh, why not blame Chavez - he's the corrupt antagonizer who said it.

Both elections of Chavez were upheld by impartial international observers. If you have evidence (probably from a Cato Institute white paper or something) then bring it forward.

Someone made a documentary detailing how we tried to engineer the coup on Chavez. It is called THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED. Something tells me it's less than impartial but I've read that it is fascinating.

"Just saw where Chomskys book went from 860th on the bestseller list two days ago to number 10 today. The publisher ordered another 25,000 copies."

Saw that also Matt--he should give Chavez a kick-back. :)

P.S. I believe Eddie may have been reincarnated ;)

I posted an article by Peggy Noonan a little bit ago that looks at this a different way. Again, I see a post here that says liberals think Bush is Satan. This, of course, is more paintbrush BS, why does it often crumble into namecalling when it's attached to liberals. It's really boring, dudes. And off point, of course. Some do it, mainly for effect, doesn't make it right, or on point. It's weak when it's done.

I think that the complete blowing off of this speech, or one by AhmadDinnerJacket (I still love that one GW) by the administration is an illustration and actually gives credence to the speeches. What is the response to the (outlandish, yes) comments about Bush being imperialistic, and the ruler of the world? "The comments made by these guys will not be dignified by a response. They are not worthy." Nice job. No elitism expressed there, is there? Why don't you stand up to these tirants, engage them in these issues, show where their commentary is off base and/or wrong? Oh wait, that's right, because you are incapable of communicating without embarrassing yourself and our country. Reagan never would have taken comments like that laying down and ignored them. He would have attacked them in the worldwide forum, and presented why America was strong and great. Neither would have Bush the first. And Bill Clinton? He would have probably met the guy for a good Harlem dinner and smoothed things over for the world to see.

Problems don't go away by pretending they are not problems, and by being dismissive of them. These two guys are problems, and by ignoring it, they will grow. It's pretty damn weak when Charles Rangle has to do your battles for you, Mr. President.

But they take care of their friends.
The story below is an outrage.
I am an attorney and we are living in a time, for the first time in my life, where laws aren't enforced by the executive branch. Favor their friends and cozy contracts, and they use the fear factor to hoodwink the classes, you and me, that are getting ripped off.

Boy this is strange this fellow is an attorney and his veiws are very similar to mine. You see what he is saying Kosar? cozy contracts, fear, abuse of laws? these are all the things you said that i was giving bad information about. Hey counslor have they gone after mal practice suits yet? thats another juicy one for the insurance companies. I got a senator here now running for office that wants to limit these suits but his wife won one 15 years ago that he wont give back.

Sponge, nice to see you have another goose-stepping buddy in your entourage with the NY Times as your playbook. :142smilie I'll guarantee you that you and your ilk read that NY Times a whole heck of a lot more than I view Fox News who you are on a crusade against. Sponge, learn to think for yourself for a change!! :142smilie
