Over the past few months, I have been religiously playing cash games. To try to maximize profits Im usually playing somewhere between 5-8 tables, depending on my mood. I've come up with a few reviews on each of the sites I play at as far as ease playing many tables.

THE BEST -

Pokerstars - At first I hated pokerstars cash games, maybe it was just because I was always losing. However, they have a great system if you enjoy multi-tabling cash games. I never have to rush to make decisions or have 2-3 other tables popped up over my table while im betting. I'd say its as good as it gets for cash games.

ONE STEP DOWN -

Bodog - I love bodogs cash game interface, but the only problem is, only 3 tables max. Other than that, everything is great. The time to make decisions is somewhat short, but with the 3 table max, its not a big deal.

NOT SO GOOD -

Partypoker - I used to love playing there, but now I feel as if I am rushed to a decision with each big pot, and sometimes I even have big hands folded if im taking too much time with another decision. I don't think I will be playing cash games anymore for that reason alone. With party you can make tables small as to view them all on one screen, but when doing that, the tables are too tiny and hurt your eyes and it very hard to play for a long time.

THE WORST -

VIP/WWTS - Seem to be very hard to multi table here. I actually couldn't do it with only 5 tables. I kept getting cancelled out. Not very fun or easy.

if anyone would like to add to my ratings, feel free.

One thing I have to say, BDB mentioned the 4 color deck being such a big asset. I had never tried it, but gave it a shot and I love it!

Really helps when doing MT.

If I do more than 2 screens, I have to play limit...can't play NL on 5 or 6 screens, too tough.

Agent, Im trying to 4 color on bodog now for the first time, it is pretty nice, thanks for the advice.
IMO, limit holdem is terrible and its like playing the lottery. endless suckouts.

Common perception by someone who hasn't played much poker. I mean NO disrespect, I would just guess you haven't. Wait till you take 5 or 6 simultaneous suck outs and your roll starts to shrivel. You just can't control your money in NL IMO.

Interesting that you play so many tables. I play now and then but have never played more than two tables at once. Have you determined what level cash game is the most profitable when playing so many tables? Just wondering if the lack of time to make decisions would hurt your profits on higher end tables. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what do you think a good player could make per hour playing so many tables.

I played .10/.25 and recently moved up to .25/.50 levels. With playing many tables, it all depends on if you can handle swings or not at that level. From Thurs/Friday last week, I lost $250 playing .25/.50, then over the weekend, I had a HUGE run where I made approx $900-1000. Now im cooling off and have lost probably $100-150 over the past 2 days.

I've found that I lost most of my money when I semi-tilt. Ive gotten pretty immune to tilt by playing so many tables at a time, but it still does happen.

Also, when playing at these lower levels, I basically play ABC poker. One of my old high school friends who has banked over $200,000 in online poker told me about this method and it seems to work pretty well. Basically you just play only solid hands with raises, and try to hit sets and such. No real bluffing is involved and the only real skill play is your betting when you have a solid hand.

I haven't been playing for super long, but ive endured multiple suckouts in a row. Im playing at a limit that im fairly comfortable with. Losing 6 buyins would hurt, but it wouldnt cripple my bankroll. I just couldnt stand limit when I played because so many people would stay in to hit straights/flushes because its alot harder to make them pay to see cards or bet them out. If limit works for you, then stick to it, to each his own. Im def. not saying NL is better by any means but it works better for me.

I hear what you're saying.

It's pretty simple really. In limit poker you make more when they chase (because they chase more) AND more importantly, you lose less when they suck out.

Thanks for the response. Do you play at such low levels because you found them to be the most profitable or because you don't want to bet as much because you are playing so many tables?

I mostly play at such low levels because its all my bankroll can handle. I think the rule is you want approx 40 buyins of whatever level you are playing. Also, to play ABC poker, I think it is easier at lower limits because you will encounter worse players to take advantage of.

Just thinking that if this worked at say 1-2, then you could make your profit x 4. From what I've seen, players at that level are still pretty bad.

Oh yeah....no problem finding bad players at 1-2 NL.....TRUST ME.

Im sure it could, but I don't have an 8k bankroll, and I doubt I could handle the swings of possibly losing $500-600 in a day, i'd go crazy. Im just trying to make some food/beer money in college when im bored.

To add to the list of pokersites, I have played multitable at pokerroom, partypoker, and hollywood poker.

I would say I like partypoker more than hollywood poker just because it has so many games. But hollywood has been more profitabe for me. I dont care for pokerroom.

If you want to make some pizza money playing poker email me tpaine. I would post the site but i dont think jack would allow it.

I play pretty much same strategy in holdem as you do tpaine, with 4 or 5 tables its pretty simple to follow and you see enough good hands to keep you entertained. I also play Omaha high and 0/8 pl, but at the site im at right now the games arent very good.
