Everyone is just loading up on the Bears.............think the Cards win this outright.

You are the first to make this "Nsane prediction", Don. Either you are mad or a genius or a mad genius.

Dammit, I wish I had the bravado to say something as crazy as that. Can't help but wish you GOOD LUCK. :mj07:

That was ridiculous, nonetheless, Im not emotionally involved with the Cards, f..k them. All I care about is they covered.............moving me to 13-9 ATS on the season.

respect anyone with discipline to play dogs b/c it is truly the wisest choice in long run ... that said I really like Cincy -3 this week, they should regroup at home... CAR, tho 4-0 with smith, just cant seem to beat people without squeaking it, might get it handed to them this week ...

thanx for the posts

Thanks guys for all the props. You know, betting nothing but dogs is mentally taxing on a guy. Thats why Im a professional alcoholic. Dude, I dont want to get into how much I wager a game because you probably would nt believe me, but I wake up alot of Saturday and Sunday mornings with a knot in my stomach. Some weekend mornings, Im so apprehensive, so stressed out over the quality or strenght of my plays, Im mixing Crown and Cokes at 10:00 in the morning during pregame just to calm myself down. Ive explain on this forum acouple times how I handicapp and how I never deviate from my play on list or database. My database combined college and pro for 7 years has averaged 64% each individual year. And Im on course and 32-21 ATS combined 60% STD. When Im not confident and Im pacing the floor all wired up, I remember the underdogs I once backed that no one in the world gave a chance and ended up pounding the favorite. Or what about some of the results or things that have already transpired this season. I thought Michigan +7 was a good value, but didnt think they would hang 40+ 0n the Irish by halftime. I had SD +19.5 last week, couldnt believe they were up 10 nothing at halftime.........I was still nervous. Last night I said to the forum that I couldnt believe everyone was loading up on Chicago, I said I thought wins this game outright. I didnt truly believe that. When you bet dogs, they can just be competitive and cover and still look like a genius.........if they do win outright thats just the iciing on the cake. Sports betting transcends logic, Ive maintain that thought for years. Thats why I handicpp strictly by the numbers. I think anlayst and color guys alike try to create the story as the result is happening only to stae the obivous........to make themselves look smart. There just talking heads filling dead air. I never let them influence my thinking. I lost my first 5 or 6 years as a sports bettor. I bought alot of locals new Mercedes. Today I drive the Mercedes and live like a pimp and Im not gonna change a thing I do until I go bust. Anyways, the NFL is so hard to beat. I make my money in hoops. I cant wait for the NBA to start. If I get 20 games over 500 in the next couple of weeks I might just call it a season and focus exclusively on basketball.

I was speaking figuratively, I realize I cant pull off that many wins in 2 weeks.............but with college and pro combined Im 32-21 ATS. Lets say in the next 2 to 4 weeks Im 50-30 ATS I may just lay it down and focus on hoops. I wasnt talking specifically about the NFL. If Im 10 games over 500 in the NFL on the season Im content. I bet sports strictly for money, I dont have to have action on a game to enjoy it...............thats for squares. Dude you really busted my bubble. I follow your post and really respect you as a handicapper. When I saw you on my thread I felt honored that I got your attention with something I said. Only to find you were throwing me under the bus. **** you.....HA, HA.

Good luck to ya Don. You are one of the guys I have started looking at what they say. I never take picks from others.....I just cant bring myself to be that lazy, but I do let people I respect influence my own capping.

In my opinion, handicapping the NFL is something you have a knack for or something you stink at. I am personally much better at the NFL than college.

I take a lot of greif for my picks BEFORE the game because some of them are just plain silly....(I loved Arizona this week, and KC looks like a play this coming week), and it looks like you do too. But in the end I think we do OK.

The thing about betting the other side is that when you win, you look like a genious. When you lose, you get laughed at. I get it all the time at work when people ask me for my best bets. When I picked Iowa over Ohio State, people thought I was crazy...then they called me stupid. When I took the Saints and Auburn this past weekend, I looked like a genious. its a tough road, but I learned my lesson years ago. You don't make money in this racket betting 6.5 and 2.5 point favorites. Wrong favorites, and dogs are where the money is at over the long haul.

My freinds condtantly ask me who I like in a particular game and I tell them I dont have an opinion. There not sports bettor, they dont know what it takes to be successful at this game. They all have that parlay menality. Well jonh-boy got 13 out 15 right this weekend, wow, what did he do last week...........3-12 ATS. They dont mention that. What constitutes a professional handicapper is anyone who can consistenently hit 56% to 60%. They dont know that though. Your going to lose almost as many as you win. They dont understand that. The only people I talk hanicapping with............are other handicappers, who understand what there up against. I get on this forum because no one understands my world and what Im doing. If you pick stocks for a living, thats conventional thinking. If you bet sports your a maverick just taking chances. The thinkinging is purely conditioning. My younger associates are so so infatuated with my lifestyle. They see me when Im the big winner, they dont see me when I went 0-4 and am ready to pull the rest of my hair out. I dont let them see that. Why should I. Madjacks is a great outlet, theres alot of good handicappers here that live for this. Dont discuss your picks with squares. According to statistics recently published by the Nevada Gaming Board, 82% of the people who bet on sports lose. This is a tough game to beat. You have to know what your doing and why your doing it. People hit my thread all day long telling me they dont agree with my plays. Dude, I dont give a flying f..k. I stick to my guns to plan my work, and work my plan. I dont care what Phille Steele thinks, the Gold Sheet, the Red Sheet, the Pink Sheet..............F..k them. You cant blindly follow other peoples picks and expect to be successful. Again, you need to know what your doing and why your doing it. Anything I can do to help you with ,just ask...........Im serious.

Not sure what's wrong with answering questions about who I like on a given weekend. It's fun to talk about sports betting whether its with someone that is on the level or someone that just doesn't have a clue. If I explained my strategy to a guy that bets USC, Ohio St, Michigan, and the Colts every weekend, he might understand it, but there is no threat he's going to become a dog bettor.....because betting dogs and wrong favs takes a lot of balls and nerves of steel.

Good luck this week guys.
