thanx for that documentation on only 18% that win $$$ betting sports ... was always curious to see some stat on that ...

personally, I rather doubt its even that high, always put it under 10% ... i wonder if that's people saying they won or how it was verfied ...

when I was younger i went up and down winning, then i hit a bad stretch and quit ... since ive come back and scaled way down on my $$$ per bet, I have enjoyed moderate plus years over the last 5 ... but as some as you might know I win all my +++ money on futures not on games, tho this has been my best year for games thus far

thanx

GMROZ22, I understand what your saying. Speaking for myself, I just prefer to talk sports betting with other real handicappers. Guys who respest the line and know who difficut it is to beat. Theres this chick 2 slips down from my boat that plays in her office pool. She bombards me on the docks every week wanting me to make her picks...........shes alittle affronted when I say no. I explain to her I dont have an opinion on every game on the board, that I focus only on teams that I plan to play. So I give her my plays for the week and let her select the rest of the ticket. Im 13-9 ATS, which is 59%............but someone every week in her pool may accidentally win 11 or 12 games and that doesnt make me look so smart. Suddenly, people who dont know me think the whole sports betting thing is just a front. Like I really might be a drug dealer or something. I just dont want to be susceptible to being wrong in front of a square. I guess its just giant ego that gets in the way.

PT, I think I read that statistic in the Las Vegas Review Journal or an issue of the Goldsheet years ago. I think it was a study done by the Nevada Gaming Board or someone like that. You say you make most of your money in futures........than by all means stick to it. Discover what you do well and stick to it. I dont play totals because I lost almost all my winning from being 18 games over 500 on the season. I think I was 2-15 on my total plays that season I just vowed not to play them ever again.

I hear ya, Don. When I say I talk to people at work about my plays, I'm talking about two people. Both are suckers and it's fun to explain my theories to guys that are willing to listen but aren't willing to change their ways (overs and favs). There is only one person I know of (personally) that thinks the way I do and I talk to him once a week about the lines. He is also the one that showed me the light years ago when I was a perrenial loser. He was a dog bettor and the only bettor that ever won.

Lots of rambling, but just wanted to say that I like your style and think you deserve some more credit around this site. You don't quote BS trends and you aren't afraid to bet the teams that nobody else will. Good luck. I'm a fan.

I like them all, except for your Houston pick. I think they get beat by 20 points. GL though.

Some very good stuff Mr. Wallace,

Some very good stuff Mr. Wallace,

Ur here seems for the same reason i am..to get away from the squares.posting my stuff for the world to see also makes me much more selective.
I have however gone to playing teasers predominantly
because i know that at the end of every season i will be plus 25 - 30 units doing it this way. I had a 6 - 2 weekend and have had a remarkable str up season too without teasers but i have also had stretches over the years where by playing str up i fall below the 60% win standard. It works for me. Also get to let the world know that the old square bromide of "teasers are for suckers" is a pile of crap !!!
So..will be lookin' in on ya and keep up the great work.

Some of u that cant or dont like to ,play teasers may look at the plays in the teasers as another opinion on whatever u play str up. As i said sometimes i get into runs that approach 75% but then again the bad streak may hit..and i like my profits regular and consistant. 13 or 14 points is a huge margin fer error.

G Luck!!

Thanks guys, went 3-1-1 today, moving my record to 16-10 ATS on the season. Washington held up for a half, than got ran off the field. Unfortunately, I had my first losing week of the season in college, so its hard to get excited about a 4-4 week. Will come back strong next week. Dont play totals, DAL/NYG UNDER tomorrow night has potetial.
