NEW YORK (TICKER) -- Randy Marsh has been named as the crew chief for the 2006 World Series, Major League Baseball announced on Friday.
The Detroit Tigers will host the St. Louis Cardinals in Game One of the World Series on Saturday night.
Marsh, who is in his 25th year as an umpire, will be on the field for his fifth World Series, the last one coming in 2003, when he also served as crew chief.
Marsh's crew will include Tim McClelland, John Hirschbeck, Mike Winters, Wally Bell and Alfonso Marquez. This marks McClelland's fourth World Series assignment, the second for Hirschbeck and Winters and the first for Bell and Marquez.
