USC would not stay within 14 points of Ohio State this year! USC will be stronger next year but my assumption is that they will lose at least one more game this year in the regular season. Losing to a bad Oreg State team indicates that USC IMO is not a top 5 team this year, but as I stated I think next year their offense will be quite solid and they will be easily one of the top three teams.

Usually when the team I root fo commits 4 turnovers, I dont say that they lost BECAUSE they had 4 turnover, I would say they lost and had 4 turnovers to boot!

Having 4 turnovers is innexcusable! If you win AND have 4 turnovers, I would call a team LUCKY!

If you suck bad enough to make 4 turnovers, you deserve to lose!

turnovers are part of the game and the better teams overcome their turnovers.

Disagree. OSU and Michigan would have hard time winning on the road if they had 4 turnovers and given up punt return TD. USC did all this and still lost by 2pts. Impressive. OSU might have been able to pull it out. I doubt Michigan even competes. The point is, great teams do not turn the ball over like that. USC is not a great team!

So. Cal
Scott is saying SC is having 4 turnovers is like having bad luck. How about if you have 4 turnovers you played terribly?

The only thing that was lucky in that game was the grace the refs gave SC on their final drive which should have been over a long time ago

Basically, Michigan and OSU would have a hard time winning if they were USC and they sucked as bad as USC did against Puny Oregon State who lost to Boise State, huh?

That is what you are trying to say, right Scooter?

I said USC played sloppy. I never said USC had bad luck. Although 2 of USC's turnovers were UNFORCED turnovers.

What was wrong with USC's final drive?

Oregon State capitalized on four USC turnovers to upset No. 3 USC 33-31, snap the Trojans 27-game Pac-10 winning streak and break the national championship race wide open on Saturday.

USC (6-1, 4-1) had also won 18 straight road games. But the mighty Trojans had shown cracks in their last three games, each a victory by seven points or less.

Texas gives up 4 turnovers on the road and wins! included is a pick 6!

Now how are you gonna tailor your whine-fest to make it seem that the condoms didnt really lose? How are you gonna twist and conive to make it seem that even at 6-1 they are still the best team in the land?

Whats next Scooter?

Are you trying to compare Texas @TT to USC @Oregon St.?

Texas had 4 turnovers on the road, just like USC had 4 turnovers on the road. However, TT had 2 turnovers while Oregon St. had ZERO turnovers.

Let me do the math for you. :banghead:

Texas -2 turnover ratio
USC -4 turnover ratio

-4 turnover ratio is a lot worse than -2 turnover ratio.

NO COMPARISON! Texas won by only 5pts with a -2 turnover ratio. USC lost by 2pts with a -4 turnover ratio and gave up special teams TD. No doubt Texas loses to TT if TT did not have 2 turnovers and if TT scored special teams TD. Think about it. Would Texas have beaten TT if they were down 33-10 at the end of the 3rd quarter?

Too bad USC couldn't force 2 turnovers like Texas. Too bad Oregon St. played cleaner game than Texas Tech. Congrats to Texas for winning the game despite having 4 turnovers on the road. Most teams will lose if they cough up the ball 4 times on the road. Lucky for Texas, TT coughed it up twice themselves. That is why TT lost by 5pts.

:yup :yup :yup :yup :yup :yup

4 turnovers is a killer for any team...and with the four TOs and being down a decent amount of pts and to comeback and only lose by a two pt conversion is still pretty amazing...I though they would get a loss but never thought it would be at the hands of Oregon St...

Well the one bright spot in this is if ND beats USC we don't have to hear how ND should be a top five team because they only have one loss to MICH and beat an undefeated USC...I wouldn't put them any higher than where they are right now in the BCS...

Scott...sorry to see USC lose...I was kind of hoping of an old school match-up USC vs OSU...

Good post and I agree. Although USC was down 33-10 near end of the 3q. I would classify that being down a lot of pts. ;)

USC vs Ohio St. would have been great. OSU has something USC doesn't. EXPERIENCE! I thought USC might lose 1-2 games in 1h of season. If USC went undefeated in the 1h, USC would win out in the 2h. USC goes and loses 1st game in 2h of season. :D

I look forward to the USC/Ohio St. matchups in OOC. I think in 2008 and 2009. There is a poster here at MJ's who already has TRESSEL beating
CARROLL in his sig.

I can tell you one thing. This will prob. be the last year PC has a rebuilding year at USC. From here on out, (untile he leaves) USC will be reloading. It looks like OSU reloads on D side of ball. I think OSU will have big dropoff in O.

I say USC wins hands down @USC and @OSU will be tough. ;)
