What's your take on this? Do the majority of you let the book know? Today I saw Pinnacle had a bad line Padres team runs over 4.5 +950 under -1220. Since I haven't used them in awhile I needed to get my account # and change my e-mail address. Between the e-mails in took 3 hours. In my first e-mail I told them I found a bad line and asked if they offered a reward. They told me they would answer my question once I got my e-mail updated. Anyway after it was fixed I was told, We appreciate your email and we kindly request you to note for future reference that if you see a bad line to please contact us immediately so that we can advise our linesmen and they can adjust the lines accordingly. I tried to inform them 3 hours earlier but I needed my account fixed first. In this case the under came in so they didn't get whacked. It seems that they really weren't interested. Some months back I saw that Carib had tennis matches still posted when sets were already completed. I let them know and they rewarded me with a free football square entry :mj07: I'm not out looking for bad lines but now if I find one I'm not reporting it. Last year a book listed here, which I used for 4 years, had golf starting times listed incorrectly. I let them know and just got a thank you. A couple of weeks later again the times were wrong. Well too bad so sad. I played the matchups and cashed for a pretty penny. Would I have played it if they were originally kinder and gave me a free play. No. The same book had soccer matches posted an hour later when daylight savings happened 2 years ago. Also they had MNF props last year with the O/U on touchbacks for the game. The over 2 1/2 was +240 and the under was +160. No way you could lose so I did the max bet. The point I'm trying to make is it's sad that you assist the books with information and they basically give you crap in return. No more help from me!!! Also I see in here how people will find a bad line and put it in their post. This doesn't happened often, but I've seen them. Doing so is dumb. With all of the people who read the posts someone is bound to let the book know. Anyone have any stories that are opposite of mine where the book actually hooked you up?

So. Cal
Just a couple weeks ago a placed a wager on ASU -13 for the half, and I find out everyone else got it at -4 to -6 after I placed the wager. Well the correct line (-4 to -6) hit but my -13 didnt. I told BetJamaica about it and they said I would have hit so they gave me the wager back + the money I would have won and then they gave me 25 in free play on top of it. If you see a bad line a suggest jumping on it, and if it doesnt win contact them about it and have them refund your money.

I hear ya blg. That wasn't even a bad line, it was a DISASTER line (somebody put a + instead of -).

I won't do it to anyone else. But if I ever find another one like that there, I'll pound the shit out of it.

I've reported a few...

I've reported a few...

I got $25 once from Millennium for reporting one.

SPG Global also gave me $25 once for reporting one.

I find it's best to be honest in these situations and you will be rewarded. The book will not reward you for betting a bad line, and in my opinion they shouldn't have to.

If it was 5 Dimes I would have hit it hard. About a year ago I had one of their agents tell me to F off and hung up when i asked to speak to a manager.:sadwave:

Hey guess what? I WAS honest, I didn't bet the line. I picked up the phone and did them a fucking favor.

I'm glad you got a REWARD for your efforts, that seems like the right thing for the book to do. That's not what happened today.

If you find a bad line in a major sport and bet it, chances are they will find it. Think about it. Either someone will report it or they'll notice the unbalanced action. Most of the time they'll just delete the wager, but I'm sure they flag your account since they think your ripping them off (which you actually are). The times I've bet them and came out with a lot of $$ was on golf and a NFL prop. Keep in mind i told them about the golf problem (wrong tee times) weeks earlier, but it was posted wrong again. If someone didn;t take the time to address this problem after I alerted them to it, then they deserved it.
What is funny to me is when people find bad lines and post them in the forums. I know they are trying to be helpful, but you are screwing yourself. Chances are if the book doesn;t notice the line, someone here will read the post and report it to the book in hopes of a reward. Hey, if I ran the site and read the post, I would notify the book myself. The people who say its wrong and they wouldn't do it probably have a great relationship/history with their books. I would tell them to. On the other hand if a book completely pissed on you over a prior issue, so be it.

I'm just ticked off. It's a karma thing and I wouldn't hit a bad line at 5dimes even though now it would be tempting to.

The thing is their response felt insulting. They offer me a chance to risk more of my money at their book...hardly what I'd call a thank you.

Whatever. If I'm still ticked off tomorrw, I'll just move my money elsewhere.

I agree with you 100%. Maybe what i would do is ask for a manager on Monday or Tuesday and explain your feelings to them. It may get you a small free play or something. It wouldn't hurt. I'm not trying to defend them, but it is awefully busy today I'm sure. If you aren't satisfied with the outcome convey this to the manager. Let them know other decent books you use at least give you a small free play.

I don't understand, my job is to beat the book and finding a line thats off is how you beat them. I would post the bad line so we could all take advantage.

Steve,
i understand your intentions, but the more people that know about it, the higher the chances are that they will discover it. Someone may read the post and report it to the book for a possible reward vs. not seeing the post and not knowing of the problem.

I will hit it then post, those that get to take advantage will have to act fast. Making a Dime on their mistake beats the heck out of a $25 reward.

the problem with betting a known bad line, other than it's just wrong, is that the books do NOT have to honor the bet.

good books cancel all bets BEFORE the game. shit books have been known to wait until the game is over and decide what to do then. you want to be at their mercy like that?

Jack sums it up well. You are pretty much taking many risks. A bad line doesn't come all to often and it is very rare. In major sports I would say 99.99% of the times they'll find it and it will be a hastle answering to them if they question you.

I guess sports betting is a naturally adversarial process, but expecting a reward for doing a good thing is a bit much. A reward should be a unexpected plus, not a must.

If I see something at the supermarket marked with a totally wrong price, and I let them know while I am checking out; I don't get livid if I'm not showered with rewards.

Just seems like the right thing to do.

Maybe this is different.

I appreciate your analogy, but it is a bit different. We're dealing with a lot of $$ here. Books make a lot of $$$$. If you are helping/protecting them why wouldn't you expect a small reward. It isn't some senior citizen on welfare. Again, I think it goes back to how you are treated by the book.
