MJ, this was an excellent and timely post. For some of us, some of our biggest issues in life were finding where to stay or go eat in Vegas for the Superbowl Party...I think you get my drift...

With Thanksgiving week just around the corner, I think we all have a lot to be thankful for...

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
depends on how accurate you want it to be.

it does get the main point across quite graphically.

it does ignore decimal points, so typing in 300.00 and it reads 300000

and it will say the same for any income over $200K or under $100.00

the data used for it comes from a World Bank paper that

"derives world income or expenditure distribution of individuals for two years 1988 and 1993. It is the first paper to calculate world distribution for individuals based entirely on household survey data from 91 countries, and adjusted for differences in purchasing power parity between the countries."

Unfair? No. How so?

At some point, every civilization started in the dirt. We are fortunate enough to have benefited from creatures with enough fortitude to have moved forward.

when you see this type thing first hand with your own eyes in person, it's even more dramatic than pictures. I'm going to a third world country in February again (Haiti) on a surgery team. If any of you want the contact for a good, real, give to the people and not to the administrators charity/organization, let me know. I have 2 orphans down there I also support, and if anybody has interest in that, let me know as well. It consists of sending 35-70 bucks a month (depending on if you want to support them fully or just do a part support) and sending them a gift for their birthday and Christmas. They send you crafts and cards 2 times a year. I've seen this charity, I've worked there, I've seen the building projects, I know the man who runs it (he isn't driving any Cadillac either, lol), and it's 100% on the up and up. I know there are several who have been burnt or realized later they gave to scam charities and are reluctant to give. Just thought I would throw that in if anybody has interest.

DID YOU KNOW..?

The world's 225 richest people now have a combined wealth of $1 trillion. That's equal to the combined annual income of the world's 2.5 billion poorest people

That stat, on that website IS staggering.

I'm always broke and have bills coming out the wazoo, but basically aside from PURE luxury and jealous desire, I have everything I want and need.
