Disappointing finish to the day as I go 2-1-1 +5.6*...
Kentucky played horrible down the stretch and caused me to push what should have been an easy win. I also played Chaminade early at +24 as they went off at +25 and of course, they lost by 25.:sadwave: UCLA showed up ready to play and jumped out to a 17-2 lead. Still not a bad day as I made some profits on this tourney. Today, it's time to get down to business, shall we...
Early game: Purdue +3 for 5*, ML (+130) for 2.5*, & 1st half +1.5 for 3*...
Purdue really looked good for the first 30 minutes yesterday hanging with a very athletic Ga Tech squad. I didn't get to watch the OU game, but I heard they didn't look good. No one is hungrier to play basketball than the Boilermakers either. Purdue's starting lineup features four players who sat out last year due to transfer, suspension, or injury. They are back and ready to go led by senior all conference candidates forward Carl Landry and combo guard David Teague. Purdue played well against Georgia Tech in round one loss despite some early foul trouble. Purdue had the most vocal fans of any team in the tournament which gives them an advantage of at least a few points. Second year head coach Matt Painter did a great job with very little talent last year and I expect more good things from him. Oklahoma lost their top three players from last year and are breaking in a new head coach. The Sooners are relying heavily on freshman and role players while trying to learn a new motion offense. They were able to score some points vs Memphis in first game due to many transition opportunities but still were beaten soundly and will be forced to execute more in the half court in this matchup.
Purdue should win this game SU.
Prediction: Purdue 70-65
Back later with DePaul vs. Chaminade.
