Disappointing finish to the day as I go 2-1-1 +5.6*...
Kentucky played horrible down the stretch and caused me to push what should have been an easy win. I also played Chaminade early at +24 as they went off at +25 and of course, they lost by 25.:sadwave: UCLA showed up ready to play and jumped out to a 17-2 lead. Still not a bad day as I made some profits on this tourney. Today, it's time to get down to business, shall we...

Early game: Purdue +3 for 5*, ML (+130) for 2.5*, & 1st half +1.5 for 3*...
Purdue really looked good for the first 30 minutes yesterday hanging with a very athletic Ga Tech squad. I didn't get to watch the OU game, but I heard they didn't look good. No one is hungrier to play basketball than the Boilermakers either. Purdue's starting lineup features four players who sat out last year due to transfer, suspension, or injury. They are back and ready to go led by senior all conference candidates forward Carl Landry and combo guard David Teague. Purdue played well against Georgia Tech in round one loss despite some early foul trouble. Purdue had the most vocal fans of any team in the tournament which gives them an advantage of at least a few points. Second year head coach Matt Painter did a great job with very little talent last year and I expect more good things from him. Oklahoma lost their top three players from last year and are breaking in a new head coach. The Sooners are relying heavily on freshman and role players while trying to learn a new motion offense. They were able to score some points vs Memphis in first game due to many transition opportunities but still were beaten soundly and will be forced to execute more in the half court in this matchup.
Purdue should win this game SU.
Prediction: Purdue 70-65

Back later with DePaul vs. Chaminade.

Okay, I did use a portion of Ed's write up because I'm at work and don't have time to put out a detailed write up myself. I converse with Ed regularly by e-mail and will give him credit for a portion of my write up.

By the way, I had already played Purdue before receiving Ed's write up or knowing his play. Also, Ed is only 7-6 on the season.

You got busted :lol2 . By the way who in the hell is Ed? I'll ride w/you on Purdue. They definitely play hard. GT was just too athletic for them, but OU won't be. I didn't watch the end of KY- I assumed they covered:cuss:

Ed is the dude with ***** ***** Sports. I have been trading e-mails with Ed for 5 or 6 years. He's a good guy who runs an honest service. I never play his games blindly.

For the mid-afternoon game, I'm backing Chaminade +16... home court, plus DePaul shouldn't be favored by this many points over anyone right now. The Blue Demons are 1-3 and could lose this game SU if they don't come ready to play. Chaminade got down 17-2 to UCLA, but they were only outscored by 10 points the rest of the game after the initial onslaught. I expect the home team to keep this game close.

Chaminade +16 for 5*

I was more interested in the UCLA/KEN game. I took UCLA -the points. Kentucky didn't impress me at all, and UCLA should handle them easily.

I'll ride Chammy w/you. By the way did you see the Kentucky fans that were out @ Maui last night. I've never seen so many ugly, fat Tuckeys in my life :mj07: That is an embarrassment to the whole Commonwealth of KY. Look behind their bench tonight if you want a good laugh. I am taking the Bruins tonight so I can root against those losers.

Tonight:

Memphis Pick for 7*... Tigers are the deeper club and I wasn't impressed with the young Yellow Jackets yesterday. Memphis has a lot of athletes and should win this game.

UCLA -4 for 8*... While I was placing my wager, this number went up. I'll still bite as Kentucky didn't look good last night and UCLA looked very sharp in the 2nd half last night. Bruins make it to the Finals with a solid win.

3-2-1 +11.35* for Maui!

Just got home and yes, I'm worried... UCLA and Memphis had both teams burried early... however, you have to play 40 minutes which neither team has played.
