Should get about a foot of snow when all is said and done here in Southeast Wisconsin. Some people hate it and some love it. Me...I say its about time. :spotting: :spotting: Always easier to get into the holiday spirit with snow on the ground.

Was planning on getting a snowblower this year because the kids moved out on there own and I cant convince them to stop over and shovel. Even with free food offered they wouldnt go for it. Went to the store last night and they were jammed with people picking up shovels, salt, etc. Got a snowblower from Farm n Fleet. They had sold out of every one except the 4 on the floor.

At work yesterday they asked if I wanted the day off because the loads were small for the day. Took all of about half a second to answer..Hell Yeah. (Not fun driving a semi in this stuff)

Sleds are all gassed and ready to go.

Trails are closed still but the ditches are fair game.

Wife was all excited when I asked her if she was ready for 12". Till I told her it was snow.

In Cincinnati, if the forecast calls for flurries, the citizenry goes into panic mode. Salt trucks dump about 5 inches of salt on the road which eats away the pavement and stores sell out of bottled water and other staples.

Freeways immediately jam up. Have to be the worst and most frightened drivers on the planet.

We got around 2" near madison , personally that is enough for me. I don't go outdoors much in the winter unless I have to. I used to ice fish, and enjoy the winter, but for some reason now I don't.

Ended up with 14". Ditches way to wet to ride in tonight so that will have to wait till they freeze up. Just spent the day snowblowing out the driveway and anyone elses I could think of. After today I should be coming to Vegas for the superbowl with outstanding karma.

I loved winter when I was a kid, and even in college. But in the 4-5 years since graduating, I began to hate it. Last winter wasn't even bad, but there was a week or two in Feb that was just miserably cold. I was on the road almost daily covering high school sporting events, and just the walk from the lot to the school and back made me want to move (I lived one town over from Bubbas, in Burlington). When I got into law school down here, I'd be lying if I said weather wasn't a factor in accepting here! 70 and sunny tomorrow... no complaints! The 10 days I'm back home over Christmas will be enough snow for me.

82* today, beaches are white sand, just shut the AC off and opened the windows, nice breeze. Cold front hits here next week, highs in the 70's

i love winter especially when we get that big load of snow and then the temps drop. It melts on the roof and has no where to go but in the house because the gutters are frozen. Its a wonderful time of the yeaaar. Only good thing about winter is that you don't need ice for your cooler full of beer.

Just wondering...how many of you folks have to earn a living working out in the elements 52 weeks out of the year?

Chip delievery person?..Coke or Pepsi del/sales reps? Milkman...Local or over the road Tractor Trailer Drivers?

WhenI hear or read folks utter it's hot as hell outside or complain it's freezing cold ...I usually find out that in the dog days of summer they go from their a/c house to their a/c car to their a/c workplace...or....in the winter they go from their cozy warm home to the pre-heated car to their cozy warm workplace...

Next thing I ask them....HOW IN THE HELL DO YA KNOW IF IT'S 105 DEGREES W/THE HUMIDITY AT 90% or ...its 27 degrees with a wind chill around 20 degrees?

while that  beautiful white stuff  is falling to the ground and making life miserable for your local vendors to fill the shelves so each and everyone of us can substain life...tip your cap or give a smile and a hello to the folks who brave the elements every day.

I have been delivering milk for almost 29 years and let me be the first to tell you "SNOW SUCKS". Makes the job about ten times harder and that's not counting the driving in the white shit. I absolutely hate winter. I know everybody says move. Can't , all the family is here and could not do with out seeing them regularly. The only good thing that comes out of winter is basketball.
