any reasons not to take LSU -9 vs. Notre Dame?

Would like to hear other's thoughts/opinions on this matchup. Other than being disappointed for not getting selected to the Rose Bowl, why should I NOT take LSU here against over-rated Notre Dame?

Let's see. Michigan and USC both kicked the crap out of ND. What shows ND is good enough to stay with LSU? The way they beat Mich ST? How they handled all the armed forces teams? How North Carolina took them to the 4th Q? The only impressive win was vs. Penn st the 2nd game of the year. I will be all over LSU to give these pretenders another whipping in LSU's backyard.

This is a no-play for me.

Maybe LSU spirits will be down, since they were headed to the Rose Bowl until UCLA beat USC.

I initially leaned to ND due to Weiss' advantage over Miles as a sideline coach. After further review, I remembered what has happened to ND when they have faced "speed" teams in the Weiss era.

Ohio St last year, Mich and USC this year handled them no problem. ND hung w/ USC last season, but that Trojan D was exploitable.

Some may point to the low offensive output by LSU vs. Auburn and Fla this season, but LSU OL was still coming together at that time. All America candidate at OG, Will Arnold, had been lost for the season, while 1st time starters, R/S Frosh Ciron Black and 5th year senior Dyatkowski were out of rhythm. Plus, LSU top 2 RBs were off of knee injuries and stud frosh Keiland Williams was a late starter due to clearinghouse issues. The OL is clicking at this point, and Keiland Williams is an animal.

Also, LSU defense has played w/o their top 2 LBs for much of the past few games, including the win at Arky. Beckwith played vs Arky, but he was clearly hobbled. Ali Highsmith was lost for the Arky game in the 1Q. A healthy LSU D in the Sugar Bowl will be the best defense ND has faced in a long time. LSU O should be able to move the ball well vs. porous Irish D.

speed kills ND right now.........to say willingham left the cupboard bare.....less a couple of good offensive players would be an understatement. Weis brought in a top 10 class in his first year of recruiting last year and this years class is looking like it will be a consensus top 5 when all is said and done....we have some freshman speed (although they don't play a ton) and a lot more on the way starting with this next class.....weis is getting athletes back to ND....but as of right now, speed kills ND and LSU definitely has speed to burn......with LSU playing at home more or less....in a dome....on carpet.......I honestly have to admit this could get ugly....if LSU brings their focus and wants to make a point, I have no doubt they are capable of waxing ND by 3 TD's in this game. People must realize that Weis is doing what he can with what he has.....ND lacks any true game changers/breakers on "O" or "D". Weis loves to run a balanced attack and right now he really can't, when ND faces a team with speed and a good "D" line, our running game goes by the wayside due to the fact that our "O" line is mediocre at best and although Darius Walker is a solid all around back, he isn't very explosive. I will give Weis a lot of credit however.....he is recruiting like a mad man......come next year, ND will be so very young......they could very well field one of the youngest teams in the country.....but the talent upgrade will be night and day in the next couple of years. I'm not like some ND fans, I can look at things objectively and say this team in all honesty isn't very talented and has a lot of shortcomings.....I've said all season that I thought LSU was the most athletic and gifted team in the land. When I heard that ND might get LSU in a BCS I thought it would be the worst matchup ND could've gotten......well it happened and unfortunately I think the talking heads are going to have a field day when this game is over about how ND wasn't good enough....deserving...etc.... because I just can't see ND staying with this LSU team......but the game will be played and who would've thought UCLA over USC so ya never know.

1. LSU has no quality wins. They play in the overrated SEC.

2. Notre Dame's only losses are to two of the top four teams in the nation (according to the unbiased computer rankings).

3. Plenty of marks are convinced that Notre Dame is overrated this season. That could affect value in the line.

true about ND's 2 losses, but they weren't close....and a common theme in both were the disparity in athletes....which will be a theme again in this game.

It will be very interesting to see where the money flows in this game......ND is pretty much on a weekly basis a public backed team.....so to come right out and believe there is a LSU "overlay" going on right now with this line is a bit premature in my eyes.....ND has been getting killed in the media all year and it hasn't affected the masses from still backing them.

Overrated SEC? I guess the Patsy 10 is a much better conference. They had two good teams this year. California got rolled by UT who finished 5th in the overrated SEC.:mj07: :mj07:

Ronnie reminds me of the old saying, "If you can't beat 'em, change the subject."

Let's keep things on point here. The SEC was overrated this year. You can find exceptions to every rule (i.e., Tennessee's win over California), but if you take an objective look at that conference, you cannot reasonably come to any other conclusion.

You remind of a nerd that I used to beat up in high school!:mj07: :mj07:

You said LSU has no quality wins and the SEC is overrated so how did I change the subject? Pac 10 is overrated every year, get used to it.
