Michigan is 2-5 against USC in the Rose Bowl.

Uh Oh, 1-5 against Ohio State in the past 6 years.

How can you be a championship contender when you can't even beat your rival?

You can't.

It was a trick question.

You don't deserve to be #2.

You didn't play enough quality opponents.

Florida did.

Quit whining.

Michigan needs to worry about beating USC in the Rose Bowl, and trying to right the ship against Ohio State.

Quit looking for handouts from the BCS for a mediocre season with 1 quality win.

I just read a lot of blah blah blah blah.

But its funny, I never heard any good reasons/excuses as to why Michigan OWNS the $EC

#1 and #2

#1 and #2

After Ohio State beats Florida and Michigan beats USC, the final ranking will be Ohio State no. 1 and Michigan no. 2. Poor Big Ten........

And UM will be pre-season #1 next year with OSU in the top five. Not to mention Wisky in the top ten and Purdue in the top 25. That B10 sure sucks :mj07: :mj07:

Its okay, the $EC will get their 5 minutes in the sun, then Florida is going to have to back up all the talk on the field. Anyone who has watched Florida play this year knows how that will turn out. Who knows Gators, maybe OSU's punt team will hand you the game? Maybe OSU will get three kicks blocked? You never know!!!!

Yeah I wonder what excuses the SEC will have next year when the Big Ten brings home the national title two consecutive years in a row...OSU/MICH wire-to-wire #1...

since when does losing make a team good. the best thing michigan has done all year is lose by 3 to osu. if they hadn't been given a PI call on the last drive to cut it from 11 to 3 would we be having the "they only lost by 3 a the 'shoe" argument?

what good team has michigan defeated?
an overrated ND team that has no wins against the current top 25 bcs or an overrated wisky team that has no wins against top 25 competition?

michigan doesn't have a quality win, period. i don't necessarily think florida will beat osu, but at least they have won several games against quality ranked opponent, at home, away and on neutral fields.

look...bottom line there is no way to settle this argument other than on the field...its ridiculous that were able to do a 32 game bowl schedule but can't manage to put together a 8-team playoff...

I know, I know. All of those ranked SEC teams are great.

Didn't you see this from the other thread?

"Florida is good because they beat Arkansas. Arkansas is good because they beat Auburn. Auburn is good because they beat LSU. LSU is good because they beat Tennessee. Tennessee is good because they beat Georgia. Georgia is good because they beat Auburn. Thus, Florida is REALLY good, because they beat Georgia"

I have finally seen the light!

you refuse to address the question.....what makes michigan so good? the big 10 is down this year, no matter how you look at it. all of wisky's wins are against mediocre (or worse) comepetition. nd is overrated. as a michigan homer, you really have no argument when your best line is "we only lost by 3 to osu" and we deserve to play them again.

Anyone who watched Michigan/Ohio St. knows that the score was much closer than the actual game.

OSU had a two score lead almost the entire ballgame.

A loss is a loss.

The big 10 had a terrible year as a whole.

Biggest argument for Michigan consideration for the BCS is...(drumroll)

WE KEPT IT CLOSE.

Wow, what a powerful argument.

Sounds like Mike Shula.

Well good for you Michigan, unfortunately, the BCS does not count moral victories.

And they don't like teams that can't win their own conference or beat their rival.

Quit whining.

Does margin of victory count for anything? Michigan may or may not have played a better overall schedule than Florida (some ratings have UM SOS better, some have Florida SOS ahead), but they did win all their games but two by two touchdowns or more. ND may very well be overrated, but Michigan skunked them by 26 @ ND!

You can only play the teams on your schedule. Michigan did that, and looked far more impressive over the course of the season than Florida. That's why Michigan was ranked 2nd two weeks ago, and ranked 3rd last week (ahead Florida).

You have never seen me type "Michigan deserves a rematch". This system isn't about who "deserves" what, or about any team "getting a shot". Its about putting the best two teams on the field. In my opinion (and all the voters opinion until the agenda was set), Michigan is a better team than Florida. Despite all the coverage and pro Florida lobbying I've seen in the media, I've never heard a single analyst say that they think Florida is a better team than Michigan. I hear about conference championships, and top 30 opponents, and rematches, but never that "if they played tomorrow, the Florida Gators would beat Michigan".

While we're at it, why do you think that the Casino's would be paying +200 on the Gator money line if Michigan was playing Florida? Don't you think its odd that Florida opened as an 8 pt dog in Arizona, while Michigan opened as a 6 pt dog in Columbus? BTW, you can skip the "public perception" BS. 6 point favorites (which is what UM would be over Florida per Chris Fowler's sources in Vegas) win straight up 70% of the time.

Michigan has proven they can compete to the wire with #1 in their building. It sure will be interesting to see if Florida can do the same on a neutral field. My money says they can't.

Anyone who watched Michigan/Ohio St. knows that the score was much closer than the actual game.

Anyone who watched South Carolina vs Florida knows Florida should have lost that game. But, the result was the result.

and the SEC is so brutally good top to bottom???
Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, vandy, bama, miss and miss st.....are below average to very poor teams, 50% of each of these schools wins came OOC.....against teams without a pulse.....stop acting like your conference is a tier above every other conference.....its not

and there is the truth, the sec has pigs (surprisingly more so than most conf) on the bottom end that are TERRIBLE. those pigs feed the top 4 teams (usually the same teams every year) 4 wins every year, those top 4 then play 3-4 ooc nobodys and then split vs each other going 10-2 and we hear how "great they are" and how "awesome the sec is"......i swear it's written down in the sec guidelines that this is the system they all must play by.

however sec honks will tell you that uga, bama, miss are "traditional powers" thus they are good teams, so my point is irrelevant

1-0 this year, against Vanderbilt. How they got left out of the BCS with quality wins like that, I'll never know.

Michigan is 18-5-1 against the SEC with 9 of those wins coming against Vanderbilt.

So let it be known that Michigan dominates Vandy!

Are you guys that dumb?

Do you think you can keep putting lipstick on a pig?

Calling big 10 a quality conference, and michigan a BCS contender?

That dog will not hunt.

Do we all remember the last time Michigan got into the Rose bowl? Doesn't Michigan lose the Rose Bowl game everytime they play in pasadena?

The answer is yes.

3 things to remember:

1) Notre Dame loses every bowl, the only thing that changes are the dates, times, and opponents.

2) Michigan loses the Rose Bowl, especially when they play USC.

3) Big 10 women are not as attractive as SEC women, although they probably have great personalities.

And seriously guys, are there really that many Wisconsin fans out there? And if so, why?

Have you guys ever won anything besides the capital one bowl?

And Michigan fans, keep dominating Vandy and bragging about it. Keep losing to your rival Ohio St, and top it all off by losing in the Rose Bowl...again.

Wisconsin is not important enough to even have a rival.

You crack me up. Posts like this just make me laugh.

I'm a Wisky fan, and all agree with all 3 of your numbered points.

However, to say that Alvarez has had a "mediocre" career is funny. Check out the Badgers Bowl record the last 15 years (or whatever it is) while Alvarez was there. No Big 10 team has won more Rose Bowls - when UW got there, they won.

They've done pretty well in the other bowls they've played in - don't remember the record, but it is certainly over .500.

But the SEC women/Big 10 women comparison cracks me up....

This whole thread has been a joke cleverly orchestrated by myself. I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

I tried to tell Dice that yesterday, but some people are so passionate that they just keep begging for more.

I just thought it would be fun to exploit another program's misfortune with the BCS because I'm an Aubie who is still unable to get over being snubbed in 2004.

Sorry to any UM, UW, or big-10 fans that got their feelings hurt during this thread. I'm sure I meant some of what I said, but not a whole lot. I think I meant the parts about Notre Dame and USC.

I would also like to apologize to any good-looking women from the big-10.

You are absolutely right about the SEC having 4 teams that suck every year! But, whats the Pac 10s excuse? They have 7 teams that suck every year. :mj07:
