you refuse to address the question.....what makes michigan so good? the big 10 is down this year, no matter how you look at it. all of wisky's wins are against mediocre (or worse) comepetition. nd is overrated. as a michigan homer, you really have no argument when your best line is "we only lost by 3 to osu" and we deserve to play them again.
Does margin of victory count for anything? Michigan may or may not have played a better overall schedule than Florida (some ratings have UM SOS better, some have Florida SOS ahead), but they did win all their games but two by two touchdowns or more. ND may very well be overrated, but Michigan skunked them by 26 @ ND!
You can only play the teams on your schedule. Michigan did that, and looked far more impressive over the course of the season than Florida. That's why Michigan was ranked 2nd two weeks ago, and ranked 3rd last week (ahead Florida).
You have never seen me type "Michigan deserves a rematch". This system isn't about who "deserves" what, or about any team "getting a shot". Its about putting the best two teams on the field. In my opinion (and all the voters opinion until the agenda was set), Michigan is a better team than Florida. Despite all the coverage and pro Florida lobbying I've seen in the media, I've never heard a single analyst say that they think Florida is a better team than Michigan. I hear about conference championships, and top 30 opponents, and rematches, but never that "if they played tomorrow, the Florida Gators would beat Michigan".
While we're at it, why do you think that the Casino's would be paying +200 on the Gator money line if Michigan was playing Florida? Don't you think its odd that Florida opened as an 8 pt dog in Arizona, while Michigan opened as a 6 pt dog in Columbus? BTW, you can skip the "public perception" BS. 6 point favorites (which is what UM would be over Florida per Chris Fowler's sources in Vegas) win straight up 70% of the time.
Michigan has proven they can compete to the wire with #1 in their building. It sure will be interesting to see if Florida can do the same on a neutral field. My money says they can't.
