Duquesne +8 over Fordham **** strong play
Not sure if everyone knows the story about the lil dukies.Everyone knows about the shootings on campus after the dance.Everhart the former Northeastern coach took over.Brought a bunch of talented players in and they struggled with depth and winning. Then after the Fordham loss at home 71-59 Everhart changes his offense and defense.Plays uptemp, pressing, trapping, running fast break, etc. and low and behold there winning. he has a 5 man platoon system and subs 5 new guys every 2 or 3 minuts. There 6-2 in there last 8 games and for the 1st time in years beat Dayton,Temple and XU.They are now 1st in the A-10 in scoring,1st in FT%,2nd in assits,3rd in steals, etc.
And thats all after the Fordham loss at home.
Achara is there only big man at 6'10. The rest are 6'6 and under. Leading scorer is a freshman,Mitchell.Everhart should get A-10 coach of the year.
Rams have lost 4 in a row and today at noon est they will be seeing a different team then the one they saw last month.. [guys..I gotta go to church or my wife will kill me. I'll be back to finish this up..

A few more Dusquene facts...

NUMBERS

DU is 6-0 when leading at the half, 6-0 when scoring 90 or more, 4-1 when forcing 20 or more opponent turnovers and 8-4 in games decided by six or fewer points.

Every player on the active roster (including five true freshmen) is averaging at least 15.0 minutes since the Dukes adopted a pressing, uptempo style of play prior to the Jan. 21 UMass game (an eight-game span)

DU, who earlier this season scored 12 points in a half, has scored 50 in a half six times in the past eight games.DU went with its running, pressing style following a 71-59 loss to Fordham on Jan. 14. In that game, the Rams led from wire-to-wire in shooting a Palumbo Center record 69 percent from the field. Since that game, DU has gone 5-3 and reached .500 in conference play. Here is a comparison of Duquesne?s performance in its first 15 games compared to the past eight:

First 15 g. (5-10)
68.6 PPG
6.3 3PM
20.8 3PA
14.5 TURNOVERS FORCED
Past 8 g. (5-3)
93.0 PPG
11.0 3PM
29.6 3PA
20.3 TURNOVERS FORCED
Difference
+24.4 PPG
+4.7 3PM
+8.8 3PA
+5.8 TURNOVERS FORCED

Back from church....the homily today was about "praying for the person that harms you..forgiving....The concept of "mercy" appears 3,000 times in the new testament. So.."lord,forgive that west virginia fd for not contesting that off. rebound by a seton hall player with a 12 pt lead with 2 seconds left and the line is -11.5... or maybe Providence leading the Johnnies by 10 or more with a minute or two left and letting them score....forgive.. me for taking Delaware a public state college and going against Iona of the Vincennes order of the cathlolic church...
Forgive me for being 0-3 vs my own religion..opps.. 0-4.. I went against Holy Cross too.Thank god Marist covered vs Colgate...1-4...
The good news is Duquesne and Fordham are both cathloic...and its ok if the little dukies lose as long as its under 8 pts..mercy,mercy..
Fordham has 6'8 Dunston who is tough.stout hit for 6 3's in there last game. Can't see him doing that today.Rams are 9-4 at home but 2-6 ats home.Overall 7-13 ats.Rams losing 4 in a row need to get back on track..but again Achara inside is a presence..dukies have a good pt gd that can score and move over to the 2 gd.With there new offense you have some players that were avg 2 or 3 pts a game and now are avg 7-10 pts a game.
Rams are not big scoring team.Poor FG%,poor 3 pt% poor FT%.
I think Rams will struggle today and dukies might have a chance for a road win..please forgive me if I'm wrong...Dukies are 13-4 ats one of the best in the country..

So Bama -7.5 over Florida Int **
Jags have won 13 in a row.Only 5-6 ats on road in conf 4-2 They just beat Houston by 5,Mid Tenn by 23 and New Orleans 18.FL is one of the worst scoring teams avg 65 pts, terrible FG%,can't shoot the 3 -33%,and one of the worst FT shooting 64%.On defense they give up 70 pts a game.

Dayton pk over UMass *
UD arena.. 14-0...thats enough.Dayton is 1-8 on the rd and perfect at home.Mass is coming off a nice win @ Fordham...mass more talented but some teams play on another stratosphere at home.In 1969 I'm a freshman at North Texas St...we are in the Missouri Conf...We go 14-0 at home in the snake pit. Knocked off Louisville who was number 8th in the country 98-80.knocked off Drake who lost to UCLA the year before in the final 4. Cincinatti,Wichita,Tulsa, etc
At there places we got killed..but they couldn't beat us in Denton. See the same today..And Dayton is Cathloic...might have to add another * to this one...

Raymond..bless you too my son
wayne..thank you for those facts
rouxdog..tough over-under
with there new style there scoring. but rams offense avg only 62 pts ranking them 286th..

NICE job, Box

NICE job, Box

Don't post much, but KUDOS to you on that "little dukies" post. Situations like that don't come up that often and it is great that (1) you found it, and (2) you shared it.

I really like one play today, but I'm not here to interfere with your thread.

Thanks, Box
