Right before the end of last year I started up on the Atkin's Diet... again :142smilie and so far have lost almost 30 pounds. :00hour

I found a website http://www.netrition.com that has some fantastic offerings of low-carb, sugar free and wheat free products. I have ordered from them three times now and love all of the products I've purchased and they deliver in a very timely manner (UPS in 2 days to me in Indy from Albany, NY).

Hope this might help some of you out there either on a diet or in need of specialty foods.

Water, water, and more water. Lay off the alcohol too. Lastly, limit your food intake after 6:00 or so, especially carbs. Good luck.

i need to lose 25 pounds too after gaining 25 pounds back of the 38 pounds i lost last year.

it's simple math to losing the weight and you do not have to exercise.

take your goal weight and multipy by 15.

that's your maintenance calories. the amount of calories your body needs to maintain that weight. if you go over that number you gain and if you go under that number you lose.

it takes 4500 calories under to lose one pound therefore it's going to take me 2 1/2 months to lose the 25 pounds.

my goal = 200
200 x 15= 3000 (maintenance calories)
1500 = the amount of daily calories i will comsume.
-1500 = the amount of daily calories UNDER my maintenance number.
30 x 1500 = 45000 calories per month UNDER
45000 divided by 4500 = 10 pounds i will lose monthly.

the hard part is sticking to it but it works exactly like i have it posted above. i proved it to myself last year and the thread is posted somewhere in general.

i've been on and off and on and off since july of last year and have been totally off for the last 6 weeks.

man, it's nice eating anything and everything you want but the pounds start piling back up.

soooooo, i am starting march 20th, the day after my birthday and will do it all over again this year.

try it, it works.

no more fast food, potatoes, breads, sweets, pizza, beer, any fluids except water, fried stuff, butter, cheese, etc.

back to boring ass water, chicken, lean beef, fruit, cottage cheese, yogurt, salad with low fat dressing, etc.

after a couple weeks of eating like that you kinda get used to it but if you go off the wagon it's hard getting back on.

good luck, tide and everybody else.

after the 25 pounds ;)

seriously :)

You will gain it all back. Quit smoking first, it does far more damage. You will put on 20 or so pounds, then hit the diet and exercise and lose 40. Walking 18 holes 4 or 5 times a week should be enough! Get a light carry bag and only carry 7 clubs or so, it will improve your game also. You really don't need 14 clubs.

you will probably gain it back if you don't have some type of a regular cardio exercise regime...

it's still calories, Al. with the exercising you can consume more calories than someone who doesn't exercise because you burn more off.

i do agree that i should get more exercise in but i don't want to :D

i meant that the exercise should be in addition to your diet.
