here's another inconvenient truth. http://www.tennesseepolicy.org/main/article.php?article_id=367 "do as I say, not as I do"

Al Gore?s Personal Energy Use Is His Own ?Inconvenient Truth?
Gore?s home uses more than 20 times the national average

Last night, Al Gore?s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore?s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh?more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh?guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore?s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore?s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore?s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore?s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

?As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk the walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,? said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

Here is another inconvenient truth, Bush and his crew, edited, changed, and outright lied on the reports of over 300 climate scientists from 7 different agencies. Fortunately it is no longer even a argument, you can't even find staunch Republicans that will argue against global warming anymore. Even Bush McCain etc. won't argue anymore. So now what they do is criticize Uncle Al s energy use. But I believe both Gore and his wife, run both of their careers out of their home. If there home was empty all day, and they worked at a office, numbers would probably be different.

So is the movie bunk because Al uses electricity in his home?

no, he just uses too much. He should have solar power, or maybe power his house with methane gas from the local dairy farm. Lots of options for him especially with our earth being destroyed so fast!

Where would it be if one wanted to rent it?--I looked all over Science Fiction area and couldn't find it:shrug:

Shamrock There is no one arguing global warming--fortunately we had it after last 4 ice ages--the prob is with the sky is falling attitude and what causes it--since you have "supposedly"700 scientists that say so--I am sure it won't take you long to find just one that has any proof--
We won't hold our breath.

Appears some practice what they preach- :)

Taking Heat

While Al Gore is taking heat for his high energy consumption at his Nashville mansion, President Bush's Crawford, Texas ranch has been lauded for its environmental friendliness.

The Bush ranch has wastewater that goes into separate purifying tanks and there is a geothermal heating and cooling system that uses about one-fourth the electricity of a traditional setup.

And David Roberts of the environmental online magazine, Grist, tells Cybercast News that the energy efficiency of the Bush ranch is "fantastic."
