Well, last time I asked for help it set me back a little over $700 with transmission problems (which was actually getting away cheap).

Since then only the bushings on the contrl arms have went bad, so two problem free weeks from this clunker is pretty good.

Here's hoping you guys can point me in the right direction again, but less expensive please.

Antifreeze is spitting from the fill cap, just a very little bit and a little steam coming out. The overflow bottle is full when it happens and the temp gauge is reading normal.

That tells me (average Joe) that the car is not overheating, but it really shouldn't be doing this.

Is it possible it's over-full of antifreeze or did this piece of shit Chrysler have something else bust on it?

2000 Chrysler Cirrus, V6 if it helps.

Thanks again, and again, and again.........

If its coming out of your radiator cap and not
your over flow cap I would try buying a new
radiator cap. If its coming out of your overflow
reservoir it may be to full.

you dont need Agent for this one.

replace your thermostat.

It could be stuck open or closed, and the circulation and cooling effect through the motor will be greatly compromised.

Brocky, I'll try that right now.

Even though the engine is not overheating? I watch the temp gauge religiously and it's never gone higher than it should, even when the coolant is spitting out.

You all should open up a degenerate gamblers car repair forum and charge admission.

Better yet you could take over/under bets on how much the repair will cost.

Replaced the rediator cap and after a 20 mile test drive it didn't spit out a drop and again, never got too hot.

I'd imagine if this wasn't the problem it should be no time before it reveals the real problem, probably on my way to work tomorrow morning :sadwave:

Thanks again guys, I'll let you know what blows up next on this piece of shit.

It's good to ask. I love it when people have similar problems and they want the thermostat replaced. They insist because someone told them that's what it was. So I replace it and charge $250 and throw in the $5 cap for free. :mj07:

Seriously, I've had more than my share of car problems, but the only way I "sucker" away money is I always repair both sides at once.

Meaning I just had a control arm bushing go bad on the drivers side, but I had my mechanic do both sides while he had it in there because I know good and well the other one is gonna shit itself soon as well so I'd rather be without the car for one day rather than two seperate days.

If something goes wrong on the right side I get the left side replaced as well. I maybe wasting money, but I'm tired of dragging this car to the mechanic.
