Record: 9-1 +13.6

Tigers 390/300 FIRST 5 INNINGS - I really like this game a lot and it's one of the bigger plays I've had so far this year. I really can't figure out why the line is only -130 other than the fact that the O's are the home team. We're getting the better pitcher, the better lineup, and the Tigers are coming off a loss in the first game which has me thinking there's a good chance they bounce back with a win tomorrow. Robertson fares well against most of the O's but Tejada has had a little success against him and Payton has something like 3 HR and 13 RBI against him in 24 at bats.

On the other side, I've never been impressed with Jaret Wright, who just got clobbered in his first start of the season. Furthermore, Wright's numbers in April have historically been very bad. I think the Tigers bats break out tomorrow and put up 7 or 8 runs.

Red Sox RL 200/230 - Ok, this is now the FOURTH day in a row I've tried to bet against Weaver on the runline. :mj07: This is Boston's home opener so I have to believe they will be pumped and I expect Beckett to rise to the occasion. He has very good numbers against the M's, with the only exception being Sexson (5 for 11). Weaver isn't a great pitcher to begin with and to make matters worse he hasn't pitched at all this year due to the snow debacle in Cleveland. I can't remember when his last start in spring training was but tomorrow will be the 11th day since their last spring training game. In other words, it's been close to two weeks since Weaver has seen game action.

Much like the Tigers game, I think the Sox can put some runs up on Weaver. I expect him to be rusty and wouldn't be surprised to see him have problem with his command due to the long layoff. I didn't go bigger on this game because I'm not crazy about the Sox lineup outside of Ortiz and Ramirez. They seem to be a very inconsistent offense. Some days they look like the '27 Yanks, other days they look like the '07 Nats. I also would rather give up the extra run and gain 100 points on the line.

Good luck all!

Thanks a lot dosun. I've been fortunate so far in the early going. I've had a few scares with bullpens but luckily I've been on the right side so far. Good luck with your plays!

I don't think I'll play any of the night games. I ended up with leans on the Braves -1.5 and the Twins +128. Realistically the Braves should crush the Nats, and they may very well do that, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out flat tonight after that big series against the Mets. No way could I lay the -265 and the RL at -125 is unattractive too in my opinion.

I also think the Twins are a good play too. Pettite is nowhere near the pitcher he used to be and he has a bad back on top of it. At this point I don't think you can assume that he's going to go out and shut anybody down. The Yanks bats busted out last night but as a team they didn't look great in their first two series against the Rays and O's. Bonser isn't a Cy Young candidate by any means but I don't think the Yanks crush him like they did Ponson.

Good luck everyone...

Unbelievable. Robertson pitches 5 scoreless and yet I push my bet because the Tigers can't even score ONE run off of Jaret Wright. Maybe I should have played the game for the full 9 innings but I didn't want to involve the bullpens. The advantage to this game, in my opinion, was the starting pitching matchup. And I never dreamed that the Tigers wouldn't even be able to score one run in 5 innings off of Wright.

Thanks bk. Yeah, I noticed that they were 0 for 3 or 0 for 4 with RISP in the first 5 innings. Nice of them to score 2 runs in the SIXTH inning huh?! :mj07: GL tomorrow to you too.

Yep, I know that area. When I first moved down there as a kid we lived in Bakersfield (oh yeah, you're jealous). Later on we moved to Santa Maria and finally settled in San Luis Obispo. I still have friends down in Santa Barbara and Woodland Hills. It's awesome down there!
