Illegal immigrants will march Tuesday for rights

It was said that you can't kickout 12 million illegals, but you can fine employers who employ them. You can setup a system that makes sure that only American citizens vote in our elections. I would like to see the law changed that says if you are born here you are a American citizen to one of your parents has to be a US citizen in order for you to be a citizen. If it takes a wall on our southern border to keep people out, then built it. America is a land of laws, well it use to be, i think people who want to come here and become Americans must apply and follow the law to be admitted. Most illegals come here do not want to become Americans, do not speak english, are not immunized, commit crimes, vote in our elections. Here in Nevada they are given college scholarships over US citizens. Stop illegals now. Here's a fact for you, Mexico's main oil field is drying up, it accounts for 40% of the government's budget when it dries up we will have a failed state to our south and the human flood gates will be open. If there are 12 million here now in 10 yrs there will be 30 million. Thousands are crossing our border everyday.

well...it`s armageddon time...because i agree with much of what my "friend" is saying here...

it was fun,though...watching aging communists, doddering hippies, dumb-as-a-post che guevara groupies, illegal aliens(and some very cool mexican wrestling masks).....

my favorite? ...some old woman carrying a,"we are palestinians" sign....

as the corrupt mexican government sits back and laughs....how come the people from todays rally weren't outside the mexican embassy protesting the failure of that government to do right for the mexican people?

I think most Americans are in agreement on this issue. But the question has to be asked is why did Bush not secure the boarders after 911?

Guys like O'Reilly, Fox News (Opinion) Channel and my good buddy GW here try to paint a picture that this is the Liberals fault. Again they try to divide us. Fact. Bush had Republicans in charge for 6 years and the problem got worse. Not only that but he had a mandate to secure the boarders. Something is very wrong here.

Because that is not on his agenda. Actions speak louder than words. If you wanted to stop illegal aliens from crossing the border, it wouldn't be that hard. Build a wall, beef up border patrol, bust out a little razor wire, etc.

i agree 100 % with this stevie...

bush failed the same way as the planners of the iraq war failed there...

right after what happened on 9/11...all our borders should have been secured air-tight....

and as part of the planned invasion of iraq....troops should have been sent to the borders of iraq as part of the invasaion force to seal them off from outsiders...

Wayne, what exactly do you mean by your "statement" of Hillary's? Are you saying she is suggesting these cities known to have a large illegal population (your term is sanctuary city, I believe) should receive more funding to deal with the problem? You make it sound like she is suggesting we simply fund some kind of sanctuary, which I sincerely doubt is the jist of the comment she made.

Also, I have read a lot about the concerns of many democrats about the makeup of this HUGE bill that mandates many costly programs and will increase costs of employers, as well. Not saying this is a bad bill, because honestly the past few minutes are as deeply as I've looked at it. Other comments deal with the very short time legislators had planned to discuss the legislation which has many different areas to think about - 2 hours I believe is what was alotted for the discussion. Seems like a very short time to devote to such a complex and possibly very costly bill to the American taxpayer (that you seem to worry about in the other direction).

I have never been one to overtly criticize Bush or republicans on this issue - except for the fact that I consider our borders the most important areas of Homeland Security - and republicans were in charge of both setting up the organization and running it - still are in most situations. I do think it's important for democrats to take a stand on the issue and propose legislation.

you have to seal the border....THEN,take care of the peripheral issues...

if the border was sealed,i think you`d find more folks amenable to amnesty.....
