Hey Boys, I actually ran across this article a couple of days ago. Hope it helps.

Small, Safer pistols offer women new CCW options
by Lisa Parsons-Wraith

What size handgun is best for women? A small one? Just because a gun is small doesn't automatically mean it is the best firearm for a woman.

Here are some needs a dealer should consider when recommending a 4 firearm. For the woman shooter, what is a firearm's primary purpose? How often will she shoot the gun? How much training is she willing to commit to? How will the firearm be carried?

Once this is known, a dealer may discover the woman is familiar with firearms, and is an ideal customer for a small self-defense carry gun. Some fantastic new pistols can meet this need.
Springfield Armory has long enjoyed a reputation for producing quality firearms. They now offer a 3-inch barreled Micro Compact pistol in .45 caliber that is a perfect carry gun for 1911 fans. It has an overall length of 5.7 inches and weighs 24 ounces. It's highly concealable and easy to carry.

A combination of key features provide this short-barreled pistol Springfield's renowned reliability. The barrel is hammer forged and supplied with the tapered bull barrel system that eliminates the need for a barrel bushing. The ramped and fully supported barrel improves feeding reliability of self-defense ammo, and a captive dual recoil spring system adds to reliability. The Micro Compact is fitted with Novak Low Mount Trijicon Tritium Night Sights that glow in the dark.

Springfield Armory made carrying the Micro Compact even more pleasant with their Extreme Carry Bevel Treatment. By rounding off all sharp edges, the gun does not snag when drawn or holstered.

Available as a Mil-Spec or BiTone, the Micro Compact is an excellent little pistol for on-the-body carry.

Springfield Polymer Packs Power & Safety
Another new Springfield pistol, the XD (X-treme Duty) has some unique safety features that should make it very popular for the women's market. These include a grip safety, double-action Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) trigger safety, and a firing pin block.

The grip safety requires the shooter to grip the pistol before the trigger mechanism is activated. The XD's unique design also prevents the slide from unlocking until the grip safety is depressed. The muzzle protector and stand-off fixed guide-rod system block slide movement, and protect the muzzle if the pistol is dropped on its muzzle.

The double-action USA trigger safety blocks the firing pin/striker until the trigger is fully depressed. A loaded-chamber indicator and cocked firing pin status indicator round out the XD's unique safety features.

Polymer pistol fans will appreciate the XD's durability, reliability and weight. Its crisp trigger pull and front and rear checkering make it easy to shoot. The XD also has ambidextrous magazine release buttons. Recoil is minimal, making this gun very shootable.

The quick-turn, disassembly lever allows for fast and simple field stripping -- a bonus for your customers who dread the chore of gun cleaning.

The XD is available in 9mm, 40 S&W and .357 SIG with a 4- or 5-inch barrel, and in black or green finish.

The sheer number of safety features on this gun will make it appealing to women. Combine these with Springfield's reputation for reliability and accuracy, and the XD line is sure to be a winner with your lady customers.

Springfield is still running its 'X-treme Dozen - Xtreme Deal" promotion. Through July 31, dealers who purchase 12 XD pistols from participating Springfield distributors will receive a free XD pistol.
Sub-Compact Para

Para-Ordnance's new Para Carry C6 .45 LDA will be popular with women customers. Its makers claim the "C6.45 LDA delivers fists-full of lightning with its 3-inch barrel and 6 rounds of .45 ACP."

The LDA incorporates an internal firing pin block, a locking grip safety, and a thumb safety that disengages the trigger. For further security, double-action pull serves as a safety. The pistols can be carried cocked and locked with the hammer down.

This is due to the unique LDA trigger system, which offers a DAO trigger pull as close to single action as a shooter can get and in a super-accurate pistol.

The sub-compact, stainless steel Para Carry C6.45 LDA sports a flush, snag-free hammer, slim profile, and ultra-thin diamond rosewood grips. It is the smallest pistol in the Para line-tip. It is 6.5 inches long, 4.75 inches high, and weighs 30 ounces. It's an excellent concealed-carry choice for most gun-savvy women.

Safety & Self-Protection
These pistols probably hold the most appeal for established women shooters who carry a pistol as part of their daily routine, Imagine such a woman's interest when you demonstrate how these pistols have eliminated many of the safety concerns of traditional 1911s. You've made a sale and provided excellent personal protection for another customer.

Hell I don't know
.380 I think is ideal. They are small but they have enough power to penetrate a windshield. They are easy to conseal ( u can find them with clips on the side like pocket knifes and they slide right in your front pocket and clip there). However they usually do not offer safeties so training is a must !!!!! :SIB Make sure she understands that most of the advantage of carring a firearm is the bad guy not knowing she is armed

Jane was despondent over the recent death of her husband Earl, so she
decided to just kill herself and join him in death.

Thinking it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out Earl's
old army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart since
it was so badly broken in the first place.

Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable and a burden to
someone, she called her doctor's office to learn her heart's exact
location.

Since you're a woman," the doctor said, "your heart is just
below your left breast Why do you ask?"

Jane hung-up without answering.

Later that night Jane was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound
to her knee.

Have a walther pk 380--but would not recommend for woman as slide is very tight on chambering shell--but good one if children in house--as would very difficult for them to chamber shell.

Mace has no effect on a lot of people. An attacker can attack through mace !!! I don't recommend relying on mace. Most police departments don't use it at all... if they use anything like that they use pepper spray :nono: :SIB Taser x-26 is the best !!!!!

Overview
The TASER X26C was modeled after our police TASER X26. Utilizing the same technology as our proven law enforcement models, the X26C has incredible take down power.

The TASER X26C is a software upgradable, Electronic Control Device (ECD). ECDs use propelled wires or direct contact to conduct energy to affect the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system. The TASER X26C uses a replaceable cartridge containing compressed nitrogen to deploy two small probes that are attached to the TASER X26C by insulated conductive wires with a maximum length of 15 feet (4.5 meters). The TASER X26C transmits electrical pulses along the wires and into the body affecting the sensory and motor functions of the peripheral nervous system. The energy can penetrate up to two cumulative inches of clothing, or one inch per probe.
