What does this mean?? The blinds can't be that high already??

Chip Leader = Harry Potter

His name is Dario Minieri, and word is he had so many poker points online that he bought a Porshce. Well, he's the chip leader today, decked out in a Harry Potter-esque fleece scarf and sunglasses.

He was up to $104,000 in chips and was so confident that he left his table and went into the hallways to make a few calls.

When he got back, he lost half his stack and is now down to $69,000. Stay in your seats, children.

Vinny Vinh Pulls a Vinny Vinh
Vinny Vinh has done it again. We're 60 minutes out from the end of dinner and he has not returned to his seat. He's been blinded off to 34,000 so far, and at this rate he will not make Day 2 if he doesn't come back.
 :00x3

9-Hand Penalty For Truth Telling
"Do you have the king?" Tommy Giampaolo was asked.
"Yeah, I have the king," Tommy G replied.

A king had landed on the turn and Tommy's opponent mucked after asking. Much to the surprise of Tommy G, the floor was called over for a ruling. Tommy G was informed that he's not allowed to actually disclose to anyone at the table what his actual hand is. For doing so, he was given a 9-hand penalty.

"Had you told a lie about the hand, that would have been okay," the floor staff informed him.

Tommy G got up from the table and pulled out his cell phone to make a call, then quickly stopped. "I'm going to go use my phone, is that okay? Or are you going to give me a penalty for that too?" Tommy G remarked on his way out of the tournament area.

:mj10: :wtf: How many times in the WSOP coverage last year did you see jamie Gold tell his opponent exactly what he had or countless other times on tv?? Are you sure this is accurate, Jack? Is that a rule change?

as far as i know it's always been a rule. gold was cheating when he declared his correct hand. i guess they decided to really enforce it this year.

hey kosar? you grow a beard

Come On, This Is Exciting Stuff!!
The cameras at the ESPN Feature Table just zoomed in on a bearded gentleman who is sound asleep in the stands. He was just sitting there, eyes closed and counting sheep, when the camera zeroed in on him and broadcast his slumbering to the entire crowd. And he got the biggest round of applause of the day.

"Could You Repeat That Flop For Me, Please?"

The small blind raises to 3,600, and Hal Lubarsky calls from the big blind. As we've mentioned before, Lubarsky is legally blind, and only able to play with an assistant who reads the cards and describes the betting for him, whispering into his ear.

The flop comes {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}, the small blind bets 9,600, and Lubarsky calls. The turn card is the {Q-Diamonds}, the small blind bets 15,000, Lubarsky moves all in for 35,900, and the small blind calls with {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} for two pair, jacks and fours, with an ace kicker. But Lubarsky shows {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for quad fours.

The meaningless river card is the {3-Clubs}, and Lubarsky's quads take the pot, increasing his stack to about 106,000.

Battlestations Ready
Nolan has been announcing over the speakers that each dealer needs to be prepared in their station. We are just a few spots away from hand-for-hand and the entire floor is stationed, waiting for the money to be reached.
