I try to remember when I'm a 75-25 favorite, I lose 25 times out of 100 but in 'variance' I could lose 100 times in a row in that spot before it balances out. Which it seems I do!

Obviously I understand this concept seeing as for the past year I'ved played poker probably as much as some people work a normal job. In the long run people like this will make you $, just sucks that it happens in the million one of the biggest events you play. Just let it blow over open up another table and keep on trucking.

Sure, that is A goal, along with another goal in the early stages of a tourney which is to not lose all your chips.

My point is, you have a hand you are willing to go broke with, why not pump it a little more pre flop? Jack puts in $600 preflop and $9,000 post flop with 1 pair! :nono: That seems a little skewed to me.

In no way was I slamming Jack's play and I think he knows that. I was just curious why he played it that way. I mean if you are going to lure people in like that, you should be prepared to get snapped by a variety of hands, small pairs, suited connectors, etc. Was it a donkey move and a bad beat? Absolutely! This hand is true to form for big pairs, win a small pot or lose a big one.
