hehe fdc,

i guess youtube and the internet doesnt have any sources for gathering information ... where do you get yours, don rickles ... i lived in dallas for 5 years as a kid, spending the rest of my life thank gawd in seattle, when i saw you were FW it explained it:142smilie

Thank you for proving my point as only the uneducated can do. As you can plainly see with just the slightest bit of research, and I do mean the slightest, I am not from Fort Worth. I reside there at present but as my profile states and as stated DIRECTLY BELOW MY SCREEN NAME there Mr. Bond...it says CHITOWN HUSTLER. With even less research one could easily find out that ChiTown refers to the city of Chicago......where I am from............but hey...........your argument makes so much sense to the senseless............lets not split hairs. Good detective work there officer Fuhrman. idiot.

Here in Ohio it's either shotgun ( with deer slug of course) or bow for most...unless you wanna break the law.

how is dog fighting any more cruel than shooting deer?

More importantly, and I know it's been talked about here...

How is dog fighting worse than spousal abuse, drunk driving, assault, and other general thuggary?

Those things bother me a lot more.

I'm all for punishing Vick to the extent the law dictates, but the difference in public outcry puzzles me.

Dude lay off the thesaurus it doesn't impress anyone when you don't have any idea what any of it means. Besides that at least apply it correctly when you do look up a word. Juxtaposition is a fuhking noun you dolt. Now is that an insult or just me being incredibly astute(look that one up Potsie) and calling a spade a spade. You see adding -ing to a noun is not proper grammar, for instance napping is correct while while napeing (such as the nape of your neck) is not. Now before you go and attend another day of stupid school and tell me that by happenstance you were referring to the actual location of the two words then the proper application of the word is simply juxtaposition. In other words, "the juxtaposition of the two locations threw me off a bit" would be the proper application.

Secondly, I never attacked gardenweasel. I am glad, however, you actually did some more research. You know what you should research...................is how many people actually agreed with what I said to gardenweasel. That's the horse you want to strap your carriage to there my friend......good ole gardenweasel............man you are full of good decisions aren't you. Anything else stupid to say or should we wait till after school today?

and honestly, if you are a writer, id love to see some of your work somewhere, i enjoy reading and would love to see some character developement outside your angry world of sarcasm ... it seems you get defensive if anyone uses a polysyllabic word, or did you invent the dictionary and play muse to the bard

ps i know your tool is puny enuff to have to get the last word so go for it in both threads, im done wasting my time

You might add catching fish to hunting.

Believe you can purchase hunting and fishing licence--there are laws against cruelty to animals.

If you can somehow determine why you might find your answer.;)

I'll give you a hint--most people that hunt/fish are what we refer to as sportsmen. Few that hunt animals shoot them for pleasure of killing and generaally take game home to eat (like killing chickens to eat) Most fishermen respect the laws and throw those they do not wish to eat or out of season back.

Then you have those(and those that can't tell the difference) that subject animals to abuse for their own pleasure or personal gain--and if they don't preform--electrocute-hang them ect--all in the name of profit.

I believe also most can distinuish between wild animals in their habitat--and caged domestic animals.

exactly, maybe vick and marbury arent the morons, but the real morons are the people who care more about dog fighting than those more important issues. do these same people feel as strongly about anti **** fighting that they do about dog fighting? :mj07: im sure they dont because people dont have them as pets like they do dogs.

Are you trying to say that if Vick beat up or killed a woman the public outcry would be less? I would think the women's groups in the country would be out for blood. There are a lot of dog owners in this country and I'm sure the thought of their pet being forced to fight to the death is enough to make them puke(my wife and I have a 3 year old pit bull, this whole mess makes me sick)

In actuality, if that is indeed what he is saying, he is probably correct in assuming that the public outcry would be minimal as far as the spousal abuse thing goes. Murder is murder and I am in no way trying equate that with spousal abuse or whatever but yea if he bopped his ho around a bit I am sure that the majority of the publicity would have faded long ago.

Stephon Marbury defends Michael Vick, calls dogfighting a sport

August 22, 2007

NEW YORK (AP) -- New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury defended Michael Vick, calling dogfighting a sport and comparing it to hunting.

Marbury spoke Monday about the federal dogfighting conspiracy charges against Vick while promoting his basketball shoe in Albany, N.Y.

"I think it's tough," Marbury said, according to Albany TV station Capital News 9. "I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors."

On Monday, Vick said through a lawyer that he will plead guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and conspiracy to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. He also faces possible prosecution in Virginia.

"I think it's tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down," Marbury said. "I think he's one of the superb athletes, and he's a good human being. I just think that he fell into a bad situation."

Animals are completely innocent. There is no legitimate explanataion for this type of behavior, other than being sick in the head. The outrage is over the fact that domesticated animals are completely innocent, and most humans find it abhorrent to savagely TORTURE and KILL a defenseless being with NO PROVOCATION.

That is not normal nor acceptable behavior.

The thread started with the issue of Marbury being stupid. That goes without saying. He plays in the largest market in the NBA. He must be looking to get traded. The Knick brass has to satisfy 17.5K home and road fans. He can make the point of it being a sport, ie: Horse Racing, Dog Racing, Hunting and even Fishing tourneys. The difference being: The other animals do not get tortured when they're finished. He will get booed and boycotted from Albany to Seattle. The average basketball fan may not have a pet fish but probably has a dog or a cat.

Yup, that is what I'm saying. Ever heard of Ray Lewis?

I agree. People who torture animals are sick...

But that isn't my point. My point is there are tons of athletes who have basically been given passes, or at least forgiven much more quickly for doing violent things to humans.

And humans are my favorite animals. I've got a thing for 'em.

I understand and agree with what you're saying, but here's the difference - most humans can at least UNDERSTAND or COMPREHEND a heated or violent argument with another human being where you want to cause them bodily injury because of some perceived wrong. We get that, b/c I'm sure we've all had times where we wanted to actually physically hurt someone. Of course it's totally unacceptable, that's why those who lack impulse control end up in jail. I think what most people can't comprehend, or wrap their arms around is TORTURING and KILLING an innocent animal and ENJOYING IT and thnking it's cool. That's completely depraved.
