i haven't locked my doors (except vacations) since 1987 and no problems. never lock the doors or take my keys out of the car.

My family's house when I was in college and my home 5 years ago. Eerie feeling. Now we keep the dogs in the house during the day.

Actually I just have Mr. Mel and my German Shepard, but they are terrifying!

Lewehands had a Pit and it scared me shitless at first. Then later, I actually had to break into his house on 3 separate occasions when he wasn't home. :com: Thankfully, that dog loved me! Fukcer could jump 10 ft high!

About ten years ago I actually walked in on a guy robbing my house. My office was about 5 minutes away, so I would usually go home for lunch. It was a small block house sitting back off a main road with a ton of trees. My roommate's family owned the place and they were getting ready to sell all of the land the house sat on to a development company. When I pulled in the drive, I saw a green truck with a lawn mower in the back, and I assumed it was someone there to mow the lot.... but I took my cell phone out and had 911 entered ready to hit send just in case. Then I saw the SOB turn the corner carrying my 27" color tv. I shouted out at him and he looked at me and I started backing up and was on the phone with 911. He dropped the tv and started towards me, but by then I was in the middle of the street flagging people down. A dump truck tried to block the drive way to keep the guy pinned in, but he got away. Fortunately he only got the lawn mower. When I walked in the house there was a crow bar sitting on the the living room floor he had used to pry the back door open. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had walked into the house and caught him by surprise. Safe to say that we moved out a week later.

would you lay the smack down on him, sponge? :mj07:

When I was 14, we came home from vacation to a burglarized home. Found out later it was the garbage man. Found a large screwdriver in the front yard that he had used to gain entrance.

Police around here don't even dust for fingerprints on burglary though. When my car was broken into and my stereo stolen, the idiot thief USED MY CELL PHONE and then threw it down on the floorboard. I couldn't ever get the police to trace the call and investigate who might have called the number. I still have the number saved on my cell phone. I've called it a few times, and the number actually called me back, but no one would answer. Guess there's more important things to investigate than stereo theft? :nono:

That definately was his/her drug dealer's # telling the dealer what he had to trade for his crack hit.
