Funny how Bellichick SUCKED for so many years at Cleveland.

Man, I swear, I just wonder. Look at all the Pats close games in playoffs and Super Bowls. What if they did get this competitive advantage?

They won each SB by 3 points and all were decided very late.

How does Brady always...always know how to sidestep and avoid sacks on the rare times he actually gets pressure. How does that line protect so well every single play when they go 5-wide and Brady always finds the open guy?

I just really think that they have tainted the recent history of the league and with all those close Super Bowl wins...I think their championships mean NOTHING.

3 points in each one. If they were spying, they surely gained more than 3 points in each one.

Total frauds.

The only thing that I can say is that others may do it. So to their credit, the Pats must be the best at it.

I despise this franchise and the league is a joke. Yet another sad day in recent sports history.

The NFL has fined New England coach Bill Belichick $500,000, stripped the club of its 2008 first-round draft pick and fined the Patriots $250,000 for violating league policy.

what worries me now is belicheat will be wearing the same clothes for the next 10 years :142smilie

I know its a lot of money and I know theres only so much you can do.

Just seems like a late 1st rounder isn't all that big a deal in this era of free agency.

I knew it wouldn't happen, but was hoping for a forfeit of the win against the Jets and a fine and nothing to do with draft picks.

Also, why can't it just be a 1st rounder no matter what. Why does it have to be based on making the playoffs?

From Boston Herald

just like I said days ago. People who believe New England was the only team doing this have their head in the sand. IT'S COMMON PLACE, WAKE UP. that said, it's illegal, and Patriots should be punished.

Mizer, you sit 5 rows behind whose bench? Certainly not New England, don't you know anything about their team? How many draft picks do you think made their team this season? 2, and when one is on the practice squad. Secondly they all ready have 2 first round picks next season I believe. Think they have the Raiders pick. Losing 1 draft pick will mean nothing, and New England will destroy San Diego Sunday. If you are going to the game, let's get in touch, we have a huge tailgate

There have also been accusations of Pats illegally using and being on different radio transmissions.

I can't say any more. I know I sound like I'm over-reatcing, but this is simply a team of cheats.

Everyone thought how amazing that there could be a dynasty in this day of free agency, etc.

Well, it was all a lie. I feel sorry for Patriot fans.

No genius in New England. Just a cheat. Dark day in sports.

STATEMENT FROM PATRIOTS HEAD COACH BILL BELICHICK

"I accept full responsibility for the actions that led to tonight's ruling. Once again, I apologize to the Kraft family and every person directly or indirectly associated with the New England Patriots for the embarrassment, distraction and penalty my mistake caused. I also apologize to Patriots fans and would like to thank them for their support during the past few days and throughout my career.

"As the Commissioner acknowledged, our use of sideline video had no impact on the outcome of last week's game. We have never used sideline video to obtain a competitive advantage while the game was in progress.

"Part of my job as head coach is to ensure that our football operations are conducted in compliance of the league rules and all accepted interpretations of them. My interpretation of a rule in the Constitution and Bylaws was incorrect.

"With tonight's resolution, I will not be offering any further comments on this matter. We are moving on with our preparations for Sunday's game."

I'll agree you need some luck to make it thru the playoffs but this makes me laugh. Last I checked, Palmer didnt play defense for the Bungholes which gave up almost 350 total Yds. Palmer led them to a 7-0 nuthin lead, then under Kitna they were up 10-0, then 17-7. Cincy botched a field goal in the 3rd and it was all downhill from there. Steelers won that game with defense and a balanced offense that Cincy couldnt handle. The only difference if Palmer was in, instead of losing 31-17 it might have been 31-24. I won't even address the Super Bowl. :nono:

whatever, if Palmer is not hurt, he exploits that defence all day long. it is always about matchups and the cinncy O was a bad one for pitt. please, do not ever bring up kitna for an argument - he is pedestrian at best and the playbook was cut in half when he entered the game.

the SB ? bs call takes a TD from SEA, and the hassleback 15yd personal foul was a joke. at best, the Sea team was bad at stopping the big play. willie parker's big run and hines ward throwing a TD pass.

pitt won, big deal - all SB winners need a little luck or a break................

If you found out Doyle Brunson knew the other players cards, would you think he was really a champion?

This is what is wrong with America and the world. People cheat and other people defend the cheaters.

The thing that sums up what is wrong in the world. Bellicheat is coaching tonight and Schottenheimer is not.
