Station Casinos Handicapping Contest: Week Five

YTD: 12-7-1 (12.5 points)
LW: 3-2

I heard I'm in 16th place, but I haven't seen the actual standings. Not sure exactly how many entrants, but I believe it is around 200.

Not thrilled with last week's results, but it was still a wining week. I was 7-2 in cash bets, so I could have done some serious damage if I would have mixed it up better for the contest.

Seahawks +6 Fits my Sagarin correlation theory.

Lions +3.5 Fits my Sagarin correlation theory.

Buccaneers +10 I really think this is a pretty damn good value.

Chargers +1.5 The Broncos are simply not that good, and the Chargers are seriously undervalued (deservedly so).

Dolphins +5.5 Can the Fins feally stick it in me again? I hope not.

Back when I used to bet, I would follow the discrepancy in the quoted line against the variance of the Sagarin ratings and it would always show a small profit. Where I would always mess up is making my own bonehead plays:mj07:

The correlation I'm using is based on the Sagarin Lines that are lower than the LV line....underdogs in this situation are 12-1 or something like that. Last week, all three that fit, hit. I'll keep riding it until.........

I used to do the same type thing where there was a 10 point difference in the two was a play, either way dog or fav.

They post them at Green Valley (and other Station Casinos) but not online. I have to rely on the old man to check the standings.

Perhaps Smurphy could check on his next trip to GVR? :shrug:

Senor: They post it in the glass case right next to the parking garage exit at GVR. I haven't looked for it at the other Station sites, but I'm guessing they do something similar. It would be nice if they posted it online.

Split the 4pm games to end up at 2-3. Not horrible, but definately a setback.
