round 1: 3-3 -0.83 units

nothing impressive 1st round. surprised i didn't lose more.

Series:

Red Sux -165 x 4

Diamondbacks +124 x 4

Not much to say about the Red Sux. They will be able to handle Byrd much easier than the Yankees did. CC is only 2-4 lifetime vs. red sox with close to a 4 era which isn't terrible, but nothing to shut them down and Fausto is 1-2 with a 5 era. These two would have to pitch lights out to get the series win and although capable, I think its asking a little too much. Although the Yankees have more star power than the Red Sux the Red Sux lead the league in pitches per at bat. They will get to the Cleveland bullpen. Ask yourself this, would you rather have Papelbon in, or Borowski.

As for the D-backs, I along with everyone else have been scratching my head all year. Can't figure out how they win. But they do and they win every close game. Both teams are young, and Colorado might have more pop, but Arizona does the little things right. I wouldn't have made this play if they started play earlier in the week, but the only thing that can kill a streak of 17 out of 18 or whatever it is, is time off. Too much time off. I'll take the better pitchers over the arguably better bats.

Game 1:

Az (webb) -1.5 + 180 x 2

Glad to see you sharing, BDB...what do you think about the Red Sox to win the World Series @ +122 or thereabouts? It's a lot cheaper than the -165 for this series and the AL is definitely a heavy fav to win the whole thing. Thanks for any opinion and Good Luck.

I respect your posts but made opposite series bets. I think the Indians/Sox is a toss up so I will take the odds. As for D-Backs, I took Rockies because, like you said, their stats are not good in key categories, like hitting in clutch situations, which is this the key to playoff baseball. One of us will be happy after its all said and done.

Tend to agree on NL, haven't put enough into the AL yet.

Webb hasn't been overpowering vs. COL, but COL has somehow become the glass slipper play, one everyone wants to cheer for. I'll be the first to pat the Rockies on the back if they continue this streak.

Also, never a bad play to be against a previous winning starter (Webb) on a rematch, but not here.

Played AZ -127 x3
rl +180 x1

Dang...Pinnacle has taken off the World Series future bets. Can't help but think the Boston bets at plus money was too much. I may be delusional...but...??

I would assume they are waiting till the Rox/DBack game is over to adjust the odds.

like the National League over also. Can't bet against my Sox, Beckett & Fenway in this spot. Maybe the under.

Levon died on Christmas Day and the New York Times said he's dead and I said good riddens.

easy loser yesterday.....see how easy it is?

two totals:

AZ/Col over 9.5 + 110 x 5. Chase mode. Neither pitcher has pitched in forever. Owings since 9/27 and Morales has only 3 ips since 9/27 and that was on 10/4. Some say rested, I say control problems. Screw the weather. All hands on deck for AZ and hopefully they will show some life if even in a losing cause.

Bos/Cle under 9.5 + 100x 2. Dice-K earns a paycheck tonight. Might not win, but should keep it low.

gl... i need it and feel free to fade away

two easy wins yesterday. well, one was easy the other was.....well a win. so take that. and it was a big one.....so take that books.

tonight:

bos/cle over 10 -105 x 3

same theory as the colorado game last night. neither pitcher has pitched much lately. september for wakefield and bird only 5 innings in the last 19 days. both pitchers are the epitemy of junkball pitchers. unlike hurlers who just ram it down your throat they are "touch" pitchers. and "touch" takes practice and feel. and with such a long layoff its hard to imagine either feeling it too much. especially if they have a hard time feeling their hands in the weather. i wouldn't at all surprised to see one team hit this total themselves. Especially with the patience that both teams have been imploring recently at the plate.
