what should I take my wife to see?

Not going to any kind of love story or romance, and I'd rather not see a comedy but will if that's the best movie available.

Not going to see American Gangster.

Gone Baby Gone?

Thanks for any suggestions.

2 movies that i think are very good are....

michael clayton....

Michael Clayton (George Clooney) is an in-house ?fixer? at one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. A former criminal prosecutor, Clayton takes care of Kenner, Bach & Ledeen's dirtiest work at the behest of the firm's co-founder Marty Bach (Sydney Pollack). Though burned out and hardly content with his job as a fixer, his divorce, a failed business venture and mounting debt have left Clayton inextricably tied to the firm. At U/North, meanwhile, the career of litigator Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinton) rests on the multi-million dollar settlement of a class action suit that Clayton's firm is leading to a seemingly successful conclusion. But when Kenner Bach's brilliant and guilt-ridden attorney Arthur Edens (Tom Wilkinson) sabotages the U/North case, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.

across the universe....(really liked this movie)

Set against the anti-war protests, rock and roll revolution, and mind-expanding psychedelia of the 1960s, Julie Taymor's hallucinogenic musical follows the arduous journey of star crossed lovers Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood) as they and a small group of musicians are swept up in the raging waters of the volatile counterculture movement. Guided through their journey by a pair known only as Dr. Robert (Bono) and Mr. Kite (Eddie Izzard), Jude and Lucy are eventually forced to find their way back to one another after being split apart by powerful forces beyond their control. The music in the film consists exclusively of songs made popular by The Beatles during the time period depicted in the movie. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

The Black Book just arrived from Netflix. Will watch it Monday night.

I think Lions For Lambs will be good.

don't bet on it....

I was looking forward to it....damn....read these

usa today: Though characters make some strong points, the film feels preachy and falls flat as entertainment.

ny post: if you want to be bored by pompous-assery, "Meet the Press" is free.

filmcritic.com: "The sentiments expressed should trigger discussions, but they don't add up to an interesting movie."

eonline: Good performances from Redford, Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise are wasted in what's basically a dorm-room debate with a couple of action scenes

every yahoo user critique is awful and the film gets a consensus "D"...i don't remember a movie ever scoring that low

I'd go see Fred Claus. It looks pretty funny. Not too good of reviews on this one either though. However, might go see it at the Theaters - need something to get me in the mood for the Holidays:00hour :00hour
