I recently contracted a trojan horse virus. Everytime a try running my anti-virus program to rid the problem, the anti-virus program stops cold at a certain point, say after checking 105,745 files.

When I restart the program, it stops at the same darn point.

I've tried downloading some programs, and they do the same thing.

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Joe,

I had some issues a while back on my home computer, and somewhere i went into accessories and restored the computer back to a date prior to when u got the virus, and that fixed my computer right up.

I can't remember the exact route i went to do it, since i am on a work computer w/vista.

I am sure someone can explain how to do this.

GL:)

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
R Joe,

I have been battiling the same thing for over 5 weeks. BSU Cards helped me out a bunch, but I messed up my computer trying to fix it, and just recently got it going again, but I have to click the Threat message about 5-10times a minute which is real annoying. :scared You can go and do a search on my problem, maybe the fix would work for you?

Thanks, I'll try looking around the accessories tonight and see if I can find something like that.

Any idea why the anti-virus program stops at the exact same number of checked files all the time? None of the anti-virus programs run completely through. One in particular(can't remember the name of it) ran about 2 1/2 hours (out of 3 hours), then froze up.....frustrating as hell!

Franky,

I read your previous post and BSU Cards response. That looks to be exactly the problem. Luckily, I only get the threat message about every 10-15 minutes.

I'll try the fix BSU was referring to and see what happens.

Thanks, guys!

Countinguy,

I'm still at work, but checked the "Accessories" section on my computer here and found this:"accessories>system tools>system restore"

Is that what you tried?

Thanks,
"Joe"
