On the course!
Bringing my jinx with me.

As a season ticket holder, I only like to go to playoff game when they go. That means I saw Randy Moss wipe his ass on the goal post in my endzone three years ago as the Vikings beats us down.

In 2004, the last time Seattle was here, it didn't really look like the Packers were going to have a home playoff game, so I never sent in for the tickets. (fuk me, now!)

That means I got to watch the Falcons dance the Dirty Bird on us in 2004 as the last loss.

I am at least hoping to snap that streak today.

I wanna think Favre can light these bums up today. The thing is.......it's a big game! And the only other "big game" the Packers really had this season was the Dallas game. I'm sure you all recall seeing "Flingin' Favre" return for that game! If he hadn't been pulled, he might have been looking at a career worst game, stats wise. I would like to think McCarthy could get into this guys head, and calm him down, but it just seems that Favre still thinks he has to win the game on the very next play every time they trail by 7 or more! Also, the Packers DO have a bit of a running game now, where they really dididn't for the first half of the season. (Why they failed to even attemt to use it more in Big D is beyond me.)

Anyway......I see the Packers as very much the team with everything to lose today, and the Hawks as the team playing on "extended life". I don't see Holmgren and his troops being too cautious today. He knows how Brett plays from behind, and I think he's going to "TRY" and go at them early. (That is to say, I don't think he is going to sit back and wait for Green Bay to "make the first mistake")

I doubt the weather will be a huge factor in anything today, either. I think both teams will get on the board today, and I'm hoping they start early.

I am going to take an "overdog" play on this game, as a result of all my babling.

In an extremely rare football play:

2 unit plays:

Seattle +7' -110
Sea/GB over 43'

(the greek)

Technicaly, I need 18 points from Seattle for a "push", but I will feel good about 17.

Good luck today, everyone!

Have fun out there yyz!!

FWIW, I think Green Bay beats Seattle handily today and Favre has a great game. Also, think their will be a lot of points scored.

Anyway, have a great time!!!!

On the course!
and then betting against them...

You bet where you think the win is going to be.

AND the beauty of it is, I can win the bet, and still have my team win!!!!!!

AND if I lose the bet, it's one of the rare occasions I don't feel that bad about it.

With great respect for your analysis, I think that MM will have Brett and the team ready for this game. YYZ, I attended Packers games when they were played at GB East ('66 grad) and have no intention of missing the Super Bowl this year.

I do agree that the total will sail past 40-something easily. I have looked at this game harder than any ever and the key, obviously, will be the Pack's OL's ability to stave off the monsters in Sea's DL.

I look for lots of the usual slants, some effective draws, and some nice vertical action to a fine set of WRs.

Another gigantic variable will be how the zebras respond to GB's DBs tendency to bump for a tiny bit longer than they should. I think that Favre is such a huge fav of everybody's that the Pack will get a nice edge in virtually all zebra-related issues.

Wish I were there with you but I'll see you in AZ in a few weeks!

I did something a little different than that, IX. The past week or so, I judiciously chose some big home ML favs in hoops and created a series of three team ML parlays to GB -330 or so, leading to small plus money results.

I therefore have a nice sized group of wagers at Green Bay pick.

Thinking of a small hedge but . . . probably not smart enough to do that.

I understand what you are doing but thats not my style. However, if you only have the Packers ML pending as the backend payout then Id be inclined to play the Hags plus the points for the game and try to win both.

Historically, me + big ML favs (even in a parlay) = loser. More often than not I turn down points in an underdog situation and take the plus plus.

Bottom line is bet however makes you the most money.

So. Cal
funny you dont think of either of the bears games as "big games", especially the first one early in the season. i guess that would make the fudge pack 0-3 this year in "big games".
