Bringing my jinx with me.
As a season ticket holder, I only like to go to playoff game when they go. That means I saw Randy Moss wipe his ass on the goal post in my endzone three years ago as the Vikings beats us down.
In 2004, the last time Seattle was here, it didn't really look like the Packers were going to have a home playoff game, so I never sent in for the tickets. (fuk me, now!)
That means I got to watch the Falcons dance the Dirty Bird on us in 2004 as the last loss.
I am at least hoping to snap that streak today.
I wanna think Favre can light these bums up today. The thing is.......it's a big game! And the only other "big game" the Packers really had this season was the Dallas game. I'm sure you all recall seeing "Flingin' Favre" return for that game! If he hadn't been pulled, he might have been looking at a career worst game, stats wise. I would like to think McCarthy could get into this guys head, and calm him down, but it just seems that Favre still thinks he has to win the game on the very next play every time they trail by 7 or more! Also, the Packers DO have a bit of a running game now, where they really dididn't for the first half of the season. (Why they failed to even attemt to use it more in Big D is beyond me.)
Anyway......I see the Packers as very much the team with everything to lose today, and the Hawks as the team playing on "extended life". I don't see Holmgren and his troops being too cautious today. He knows how Brett plays from behind, and I think he's going to "TRY" and go at them early. (That is to say, I don't think he is going to sit back and wait for Green Bay to "make the first mistake")
I doubt the weather will be a huge factor in anything today, either. I think both teams will get on the board today, and I'm hoping they start early.
I am going to take an "overdog" play on this game, as a result of all my babling.
In an extremely rare football play:
2 unit plays:
Seattle +7' -110
Sea/GB over 43'
(the greek)
Technicaly, I need 18 points from Seattle for a "push", but I will feel good about 17.
Good luck today, everyone!
