as for clemson/duke tomorrow... looking for duke -4.5 tomorrow. that'd be BOMBS AWAY :bigun:

coach k will have his boys ready to battle. clemson's lookin for revenge after last year's clock issue in cameron. clemson has had two battles and an easy victory so far to start the ACC play. but they've all been home games, and NC State is bottom of the league this year since losing their PG. Duke should control this game from the beginning and should be able to get some drives and draw some fouls on clemson's bigs. i could see Duke win going away unless oglesby somehow is mr. clutch freshman and drops some 3s to keep the tigers in it. either way, duke wins by 10 at home, i think--adding some FTs at the end (AND WE ALL KNOW ABOUT CLEMSON'S FREE THROW SHOOTING! MY GOD!)

Duke at -4.5 would be a very short number.....figured the line might be like last night's Tenn/Vandy with the home Dookies around -10 or something.

Maybe I am just undervaluing Clemson, but I assumed they would be bigger doggies......betting or not, I'd like to see a close game tomorrow just to keep me entertained.

Cant wait to see the lines for the other games tomorrow....another big day Saturday of college hoops!

Good luck tonight!

it would be short, that's why it'd be bombs away. clemson's gotten more exposure lately as they've improved and are playing tough. i think it'll probably be more like 6.5 or 7, but i'm allowed to wish, right? ;)
that game last night (tenn/vandy) i had tenn winning by 15, but like vandy and ogilvy and thought they'd probably hang in there so i laid off of the 10.5, didn't get any on live betting during the game, either, was watchin the other channel. i have duke by 12 tomorrow, and not sure how the books are gonna treat it. i mean, wisconsin was like a 5.5 point dog when they came to cameron, but this is a conference game. i don't think this clemson team gets much more than 5.5 or 6 points, at krzyzewskiville or at the dean dome, and will be favored over every other acc team. i'd take duke -7 and rely on the cameron crazies to bother the FT and 3p shooting freshman that the tigers have got. my friends tell me to lay off betting clemson games cause clemson always finds a way to **** me (maybe it's cause my tattoo is cloaked by a duke hoodie, idk.) either way, i can't wait!

go duke! :00hour :firing:

Clemson was just a 5.5 home dog to UNC. They are going to be a much bigger than 4.5 dogs at Cameron. TP probably is right with the line around 10.

I would think the total would be around 152. Not sure which way I would go with that. Duke plays pretty good D at home.

yes. clemson was a 5.5 home dog to UNC. duke won both games last year by a combined 7 points. clemson took UNC to OT. beat down NC state who UNC beat down a few days before, and duke almost let the seminoles get away with a win. i really hope it's not 10, i'd have to take clemson and hope they're hittin some shots and booker doesn't get in foul trouble. it was duke -6.5 last time they played in nc and both teams were struggling then, and both are much improved now. i think we probably see the same number, maybe an even 7. i don't think it goes up from there, i think it could settle on 5.5 at tip, which would be a lovely number for some live betting action.

poon, where do you bet? (out of curiousity)

UNC beat down NC St? Pretty kind assesment to the wolfpack dontcha think! :mj07:

I always assume with a team like the Blue Devils at home the oddsmakers always place a Blue Devil tax onto it knowing people will take Duke regardless because they are expected to beatdown people at home all the time.

Regardless, very intrigued to see this line just out of curiosity. How much respect will Clemmie get on the road?

The other line I am intrigued to see-- just off the top of my head as I dont have a comprehensive schedule in front of me--are two big 12 games: KU at Missou and Tamu and KState. How many points will Missou be getting. They pretty much controlled Texas last week at home and I believe have a real shot in this one. But, they lost last time out and were never really in the game at ISU. If they're catching, say, the same 5.5 Clemmie got vs UNC, I might just bite.

As far as Tamu vs KSU......boy did Tamu get worked by TT....another road game.....might we have an unranked fav here?

Any thoughts....other interesting games?

I wouldn't touch a Duke over with a ten foot pole. The numbers are inflated. They dominate good offensive teams defenisvely and take the air out of the ball in the second half. I think Duke unders in conference play may be good money makers except maybe against North Carolina.

Tig3, I don?t understand your logic. You say above that you have Duke by 12, but you would be willing to take Clemson +10?

As far as the line goes, Clemson is the one that blew their lead to FSU at home before taking it to them in the 2OT. Duke went in and handed FSU a defeat in their own house after sustaining the push from Douglas and Rich in the 2H. I was more impressed w/ the Duke win of the two. Also you are neglecting to recall the Clemson loss at home to Charlotte, though I guess you could call that a hangover game. Clemson is good, but they aren?t good enough to be a 8 point or less dog at Duke imo. The line of around 10 seems right to me.

Duke line should be around 8-10 tomororw. Duke at home, are you kidding me? It's tough to win when it's 8 against 5.

i bet it drops to 7 by tip. i'm glad it didn't open any higher.

steve again, huh? "8 against 5" again... come on. how about not posting your opinion after the fact. i said duke -7 optimistically. go jerk off with a wet towel, quit wasting our time.

you think there is going to be that much Clemson action to move the line 2 points? I respect your opinion man, but I'm just not following you on this one bud.

quit wasting our time???? You're the one that thought the line would go to 5.5 by tip. :mj07:
Not that many people are going to bet against a team that gets every call. Duke lines always go up b/c the public loves to bet them.

steve: yeah, if you're going to offer dissent, how about backing it up with something? geez. all you do is come in and put your little laugher guy. why don't you just stay out?

poon: maybe it's a little wishful thinking, but yes, i think there will be action on clemson to move the line down. i could be wrong, but who's right all the time? clemson's gotten good exposure over the last season and a half now with games versus duke and UNC being tight and nationally televised. it probably is an extra point for duke's hc adv over normal. i think clemson's loss to charlotte hurt their pwr ratings a little but charlotte's good and that was just a situation like my boy "I Never Met Irv" said... first day of class, lookin ahead to FSU, etc.=not good for clemson and they weren't ready.

i hope the line doesn't move up, i want to take duke, they're playing very well this year and should roll at home. if clemson didn't have booker playing so well and oglesby a machine from outside--well, if duke had zoubek inside, i may worry less about booker--i'd be very confident in my number.

if it does i hope it goes up big, to 10.5 or 11, then it's "DE-FENSE! DE-FENSE!" and "1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, C-L-E-M-S-O-N, T-I-G-E-RRRR-S, FIGHT TIGERS, FIGHT TIGERS, FIGHT-FIGHT-FIGHT!"
