I've been threatened with lots of things if I don't at least get her out of the state for this stupendous occassion in early March. :mj07: Need to leave midmorning to afternoon on a Monday and be back home by Friday night. Budget  1.5-2K since I'm such a big spender? :mj07:

Thoughts I've had...

Las Vegas - I've never been, always wanted to go, of course. She was born there at the Air Force Base and hasn't been back since she was 6 months old. She can play some slots, I can play some poker, and we can go to some shows and experience the beast for the first time.

somewhere in Mexico at one of those all inclusive type deals??? - I've read where several of u all have done this and loved it. Are these trips usually for a week, or can you go for just 4 days and get a discounted rate? We don't drink, so is this a waste of money since I'm sure that's heavily figured in the pricing, or are adult beverages not included?

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area Would suck for me, but she's been once and liked it. 5-6 hour drive.

Ceasar's Indiana -she's been and loves to play slots. We've never stayed there overnight. She loves the nice room/room service kinda stuff. 2+hour drive and a pretty quick trip. Not too special, but she would like but yet maybe be dissappointed??

Gulf Shores, Alabama- honeymoon spot, we've been married since 1995 and haven't been back. 8 hour drive or so...

Panama City Beach - buddy owns a condo; could get that for a great price. Should be before all the Spring Break bs.

Myrtle Beach

Savannah, Georgia/Tybee Island - we've both been and she loved it. I kinda hate the thought of being at a beach for 4 days, and it's kinda high there. I'd enjoy the history and tourism in Savannah, but I hate to think of keeping some stupid itinerary.

Lastly, FOCK ME!! I pretty much hate going anywhere, and you can't imagine how bad I hate to plan anything.

If you are married then you probably drink, go with the all inclusive. I can help you with finding the right price also as I have some leeway in that area due to my position with the airline. Hope it all works out.................and in for that matter

Above the Clouds....
I'll tout the Playacar area. We go every year and love it. There are plenty of people there that don't drink. Lots to do there and reasonably priced that time of year.

Just saw that you don't drink.........................wow........................and married too....................goooooood luck with all that. Have you thought about Pennsylvania? That's where I would go if I didn't drink. I mean they have Amish people there that churn their own butter, you should be able to find something to do there.

no better experience for a sports junkie than opening weekend of March Madness at a Las Vegas Sportsbook :00hour

besides she'll love the shopping and dining ;)

Charleston South Carolina. If you both liked Savannah you will love Charleston. The wife and I went on our honeymoon and a few years back. There is a bed and breakfast downtown in old Charleston call 27 State Street. Nobody will bother you and it is walking distance to everything. Great food Hymans on King street and Tommy Condons Irish pub (order shepard's pie) I think we may go back if I don't stfu. Tour the prison where Blackbeard was executed. Great history and haunting stuff.

Definitely a waste if you don't drinnk and don't like the beach.

Also, add Asheville, NC to your list. It fits your criteria pretty well. And I think you would like to scenery. The Biltmore is good for two days of touring since you are into the nature side of things.

And you won't be close to touching your budget.

book her a suite at a local hotel for the week and have 2 -20 year old frat boys show up.

then you can head off to vegas or the hunting and fishing expo.

6-5, a lot of good suggestions above but most of
them don't jive with March. Either Mexico or Las
Vegas is your choice. (Weather) And since neither
of you have been to LV, you have to do it. You
won't be disappointed. Once you get off the plane
and hit the Hotel :142hump: :s6: :iagree:

You will come back home fricken wide eyed and
bushey tailed :00hour

Clint: For the money, I don't think you can beat Vegas....especially since you haven't been there. My wife and mother don't gamble but are HUGE fans....they like the lights, the shopping and the food.

If you want something a little bit more exotic, definitely hit up the all-inclusive resorts on the Riviera Maya, south of Cancun. Don't worry about the alcohol thing, because the overall package has a lot of benefits. "Free" booze is nice, but it's hardly reason for an adult to make a vacation plan around.

PS: If you take your wife to Gatlinburg, I'll drive down and kick your ass myself.
