Thatwas just a disgusting microcosm of how pathetic our government has become. Even a hearing regarding a baseball player using steroids was divided exactly on party lines. Ever wonder why nothing gets done in Washington? The 2 parties even argue about this bs. Democrats trying to bring Clemens down. Republicans blowing him, even when they know he is guilty. Disgusting.

I grew up in Boston, Clemens and Bird were my boyhood heroes. Even I believe Roger was guilty, you don't?

You don't find the Republicans guilty of defending Clemens? Every single one. Ridiculous.

if you watched it dogs, the Senators from Massachusetts on the committee (Lynch & tierney) were some of the few calling a spade a spade, and calling Clemens out. Idiot like Davis from Virginia, and that idiot Republican from Indiana were idol worshipers & looking for autographs.
If you watched this, you know exactly why nothing gets done in this country. Obviously Clemens from Texas, is well known behind Bush & all the Republicans lined up behind him.

i somewhat agree with you..however the problem is that baseball has a very weak commissioner & neither the union or the owners are doing anything to police this stuff...so the gov't is stepping in...

Hog, do you have a brain? I didn't say Bush made Clemens take steroids, or anything ridiculous like that. Did you even watch any of the hearing? I said every single Republican, every single person, Dan burden, Tom Davis, Virginia Cox, Issa from California, the woman from New York, Christopher Shays from Connecticut etc. etc. every single one lined up behind Clemens, and hero worshiped him, saying ridiculous things like "your definitely going to Heaven", tell us about your workout regime", "your a baseball Titan" etc. etc. on and on, worshipped and stroked a drug user and cheat.

It was disgusting, and it was done, because Clemens is a big Republican supporter and contributor to Bush & the Republican Party.

mabus, dude your absolutely right, the thought that the Congress is spending time on baseball etc. with the present shape the country is in, is ridiculous enough.

Its totally unconscionable that partisan politics plays a role in this also. That to a person, every single one, every republican, lined up and defended a cheat and drug user. Is incredible to me. Republican Congress, basically to kids everywhere, supported not only cheating, but bold face lying to Congress under oath. They supported & defended Clemens, who knowingly and continually lied to their faces in Congress under oath. Incredible and disgusting.

Bush has to feel some loyalty. He ran the Texas Rangers at a time when the entire team was shooting up right under his nose. ...Of course his nose was too powdery at the time to pick up the obvious scent. Who is Bush to be judgemental now? If there isn't honor among cheaters and junkies, then there's no hope left for us.

But instead they tackle the rocket and steroids in baseball...my God
And then republicans decide to back the rocket if for no other reason than because democrats are not backing him

This stupid issue illustrates how both sides of the isle are full of chit.
And more importantly, it illustrates, as my previous post of a portion of the constiution points out;
Congress is exerting way to much authority over issues with which they should have no interest whatsoever.

Stick to fvcking up the things that matter-like healthcare and iraq; leave baseball alone...I guess

Honestly, why in the fvck do we even have a Congress or a President for that matter??

Yeah, no kidding. And they could have completed the tackle on a lot more had the republican obstructionists not set records for that activity.
