Has anyone here ever done any spa resorts for vacations?

My wife is in to that kind of stuff and our 5 year anniversary is coming up in May. I was thinking possibly some sort of health-centered spa resort.

Looking for a nice, reasonably priced 4 day/3 night weekend type deal.

Anyone have anything on these types of vacations?

Thanks, Morris.

Not too far off on price, but we were shooting for a little different trip this time. We went to the Mayan Riviera for our 3rd anniversary. I'm thinking we want a place a little different this time around. We have discussed doing the same trip again, though.

I thought an Arizona/Colorado type joint would be a nice change of pace this time around.

Kind of like Canyon Ranch. Not SO focused on the health aspect, and not so expensive. ;)

I would also be very interested in any information on a vacation package for coastal Oregon.

Maybe a resort near the wine regions there??

My wife hates gambling. I know, I know. Vegas is more than gambling. But I think she is wanting a little more romance.

June 19th? right around the date we'll be going. But I'm almost positive me stumbling in the room at 4 am after knocking back Patron all night is not what she has in mind! :00hour

Allright, I think a few of you have recommended this place now. It's in the same area as a place we stayed a few years back.

Have any of you been recently. The only bad review portions that I see are that the beach was washed out from a hurricane (about a year ago) and the two resorts on either side are far from a "relaxed" environment.

Thoughts?

thanks for the input so far.

GO DAWGS!!!

I know I'm chiming in late dawg, but the Scottsdale Princess by Fairmont Hotels is amazing. plus it is attached to the TPC Scottsdale which is a great course to play. The spa is really nice - I even joined my wife for a couples massage while there.

Basically, you can't go wrong with the choices you've mentioned. The Princess is amazing though.

BTW, congrats on your dawgs today/tonight. amazing stuff!

Above the Clouds....
Dawgball, we got back 3 weeks ago and had a great time. The beaches are washed away from what you remember. There are huge school bus sized sandbags out in front to stop more erosion. The palace is on one side and Allegro on the other and they were not rowdy when we stayed there several years ago. I guess if the beach is a priorty then I would go some other place. All the resorts in the Playacar area have been effected.

Sprite Zero and Cherry Coke Zero rock.

Understand that they're still not great for you, but as far as zero calorie soft drinks go, you can't beat them.

Morris -- thanks for the great info. The beach is not a priority. Really, if a resort in Boise had a nice pool and played background wave sounds and had a fan blowing a salty breeze, I couldn't give two shits about being actually ON the beach. :SIB
