Above the Clouds....
Friends were going to do it in Mex last year but too much stuff had to be done down there.

Have you done any research on it yet?

My wife I got married on the beach in St. Lucia. I wouldn't have done it any other way. First thing you need to find is if you marriage will be recognized here in the states, places such as Aruba it will not be.

We did the best room, first class flights, and all inclusive and we treated like royalty. They actually did a nice job on the pictures and film. Very well organized.

Most places you must be there for 3 full business days, because they just don't want you show up get married and leave without them making something off of it.

We came home, and had huge outdoor party as a reception. It was blast. Played our video on a continuous loop for all to see. I had the chef from a local country club come and cook 2 prime ribs and hams. A separate place for the bar that was fully stock.

Needless to say, it was less hectic and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Our cost for the wedding trip was about 7K and then the party. The trip itself was one of the most relaxing I have ever been on.

Good luck

I got married in the Bahamas and highly recommend it. They do marriages at the resorts all day long, so it is nothing new to them. We stayed at the Sandals resort and did the Weddingmoon package. There were a couple hickups at the resort, but nothing substantial. If you goto Nassau, keep in mind that you have to be a "resident" before you can legally be married there.....resident = 48 business hours on the island.

Remember: the wedding is for you and your wife so do what you guys want. We told friends and family that we were getting married down there and they were welcome to join us. Don't let people give you a guilt trip about it....if they want to be a part of it, they know where you'll be.

If you need/want any more info, get my email from Jack.

Wouldn't have done it any other way. Just make sure the wife does all the planning and make sure someone else is paying for it.

It's a great way to make sure that the people who you really want to be there are there and no one else.

5-year anniversary coming up this August and we're heading back to the Atlantis - Can't wait!!

My sister and bro-inlaw got married 3 years ago in Puerto Vallarta and have had no problems at all. It was an awesone ceremony for much less cost. Plus, you weed out a lot of unwanted guests by making them take a big trip to get there.

Sounds like a great idea if you have a TON of money thrown into the program
