i can't take anything written there as truth because, did you know, that anybody can edit pages there with their own text? that opens up a chitload of BS that can be posted there.

With the exception of a few protected pages, every page has a link that says "edit this page", which lets you edit the page you are looking at. It is Wikipedia's most basic feature, and allows you to make corrections and add facts to articles.

uuummmmmmm

Don't think I'll be back there again. It's more like, don't think I'll be around that group of people again. We'll see when it comes. Rage can be your friend.

I was more than a little upset a month or so ago at the gf and her crew saw what lies behind the mask. I was about to kill every one of them. Stone cold sober btw. So I think I bought myself a ticket to never see those people again. Also, one of them dropped dead of a grabber 6 mths ago. He was your age and lived in Whiting.

I think it's the best place to go for information, if you have an eye for weeding out BS.

If you need to know the capital of Zambia, I think you can trust wikipedia. If you want to find out what year the 5th Beach Boys album came out, who wrote the 7th track, and how many copies it sold, I think you can trust wikipedia...However, If you want to know about abortion or the holocaust I might be wary of wikipedia.

Thing is, for every nutjob that goes in and edits a page, there are 5 loyal people who "guard" their topic and fix errors.

I guess the theory is that the community as a whole is bound to produce information that is just as "reliable" or correct as anyone else.

It's good to be discerning, cause I am sure there is some BS there, but it begs the question "who CAN you trust" ... journalists? textbooks? humans are virtually incapable of being unbiased, and are rather prone to error.
