Not to mention it wasn't like it was some horrible shortcoming, either. She lost to a Russian girl that, if I'm not mistaken, was heavily favored coming in and is considered one of the best ever.

dawg, the pole vaulters name is jenn stuczynski, she is from my hometown. saw the video, thought it was a little cold.
boss, I think what the coach said was "meat grinder" jenn hadn't looked good in the warmup, thus had to start at a shorter height, which meant her legs weren't as fresh. he said she got caught in the meat grinder, having to work her way up.
silver medal for jenn, we are very proud of her here. not bad for a girl who 4 years ago didn't even know what the pole vault was. she was playing basketball her senior year of college and the coach went to her said he thought she would be good at it. fast forward 4 years and she is in the olympics winning silver. truly amazing...
