You can't effect 'change' if you don't get elected. He made a choice that gives him his best chance.

Would it have pleased you more if he selected a 38year old Pakistani woman? Would you have praised him for REALLY fighting for change?

The guy fooled alot of people. He ran as a new kind of politician. You sheep bought that. He is a typical Chicago Politician, from the Daley political machine, the most corrupt in the nation. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the show!!:0corn :mj07: :00hour

I know exactly what he is and always have known. Not exactly as you describe, but not how he describes himself either.

I don't care.

Just as in 2004, I will support literally any democrat that is nominated to run for president. Even if it was that weird little dork, Kucinich.

That was not the case in 2000. Al Gore, at the time, did not seem tolerable. Of course, who could have predicted the utter incompetence and total ignorance of Bush and his lackeys. Or is Bush the lackey? Doesn't matter, same results for the last 8 years.

Think Biden was good choice. Will add to ticket something O lacks in every respect--presidentual qualities--experience/ leadership and foremost--respect of his peers.

Just a shame if they win those that put O in power will have little to do with Biden. You'll hear less from him as VP than you did on senate floor.

I don't understand this part. I mean, of course you're talking about negroes, but what do you mean that they 'will have little to do with Biden?'

I don't care if we hear from him as long as he is free to, strongly if necessary, express his opinion to Obama on whatever topic.

IMO, it's a pretty good balance. Things that worry me about Biden are mitigated in that Obama is the boss and has the final decision.

Conversely, things that worry me about Obama are balanced by the experience that Biden has and that he knows how the system works and presumably knows how to work around the edges and behind the scenes to try to get things done.

Actually Matt I wasn't even thinking about blacks--was thinking of Moveon/Kos/huffington/soros clans

Blacks didn't enter my mind--can't fathom how they'd put him in power--other then bump him up in standings in the black caucus he belongs to in senate.

--believe the rebs are proceeding correctly on biden end of ticket--ignore him and continue on Obama--

Best way to handle Biden issue is use him against obama--I see they are on right track with 1st ad out-- ;)

Exactly. I thought Obama would go with someone younger, who's less of a Washington insider, to continue with his "Change" platform. But in the end, I gotta believe he decided he's gotta get elected first and Joe Biden gives him the best chance.

Btw... I was being somewhat facetious in referring to Romney as "Central Casting". I just don't think he distinguished himself in the Primary debates other than getting smacked by Ron Paul a couple times. I don't really believe he'd embarrass himself debating Biden either.

The problem is the Primary debates weren't really debates. For the most part, the candidates knew what questions they might be asked and they were limited to sound bite answers. In a real head-to-head cage match style debate, Biden's just got too much game for most opponents (in either party).

Ok, that makes more sense, then. I couldn't figure out the tie-in. Yeah, the fringe left will not like this choice.

They might want to be careful with that strategy. For one thing, obviously, people that are running against each other will say some not so flattering things about another candidate.

Secondly, what he said really wasn't that bad.

Most importantly, can you imagine the soundbytes and videos the dems could bring out if McCain picks Romney. They had the most bitter relationship of any of the rest of them. As i'm sure you remember, it got pretty nasty.

Biden will bring in the working class democrats that Hillary had in Ohio, Pennsylvannia. He balances the eliteist and inexperienced tags that the party of hate put on Obama.

I think this is a winning team. More importantly than winning in November, I think the country will benefit from these two in charge. God knows what will happen if another neocon gets in.

Why aren't we seeing more of those pictures of McCain and Bush hugging? Come on Barrack, even I could run a better campaign than you guys are doing right now. Keep on showing that picture, over and over and over again.

Agree Matt--definately a 2 way street.

I have thought for past 10 years that biden would be best candidate for moderate Dems and independents--but made note each time he ran the money from the left would never support him.
Would have liked to have seen him get nod this time--if he had I could sit back and feel moderately comfortable regardless of who wins--with exception of have pres and congress of same party-as a slight downside.

Have always felt Pres primary job was that of commander and chief--and have confidence in both biden and mac--but biden as vp will have 0 impact and can see rocky road in future for he and obama if they win--biden not one to let public opinion sway his opinion and o just the opposite. IMO anyway.

You got obama the puppet and soros-moveon-huffinton and kos on each corner pulling the strings.
Moveon tugs and obamas arm flies up and puppet master says gen betray-us.

--good news for you is you once again have dual lawyer team--bad news is believe even you are going to have to give up on your ole commrade Edwards ;)

Regardless of whom gets elected, one thing is for sure, this country is definitely going down the wrong path. Congress and the next Prez need to act on some serious changes pretty quick.

I personally do not see any changes with Mcsame
coming into Washington, just continuation of failing policies and the acceleration of the many faceted bankrupting of America.

May the "Architect Of The Universe" help us.

What I find so funny and sad at the same time is that a few guys around here are blasting anyone not supporting McCain (when they don't really like him either) and you don't ever hear anyone who talks about Bush in positive terms. Very few here and anywhere think Bush has done a good job and represented them well, and they have always blasted McCain and said he doesn't represent the ideals they believe in.

And those same people call democrats who would consider voting for anything but the same old crap to be idiots and sheep.

Talk about stupid. IMO. JMHO. STUPID.

It simply doesn't matter who the dems would have put up there - Biden would have been about the best possible choice if conservatives had a gun to their head from the other side, and now he is completely worthless.

Talk about stupid. IMO. JMHO. STUPID.

Keep it up, keep focused on the crap that doesn't matter, the content that really is worthless, and be afraid of everything that seems different to you. The beauty of the truly conservative minded person - and I don't mean conservative ideals here, either. I mean conservation of the brain.

I think that is a matter of who is judging.

Considering he inheirted recession--economy took big hit after 911 then greatest natural disaster-simultaneous wars--now subprime chaos--

--and you still got unemployment at 5.6 (anything in 5 is great and no one in Europe or Asia matches it that I am aware of. You have lowest interest rates in decades--lower taxes

Quite a feat I would think--not that he deserves all the credit.

Protecting American
Don't believe we've had terrorist attack on our soil since 911--who in Europe can say the same?

Remember the axis of evil--look at the ones we tackled then look at the one handed over to European union (Iran)

Other than his spending on social programs --I think we came out of 8 years in excellent shape especially in light of all the catostrophic events that have taken place.

---and a little bit bit more on "depends on who is judging"--Appears "we the people" had diff take than you considering he got more votes in 04 than he did in 00. :)

I believe you put to much confidence in how liberal media try's to portray this administration.

A good matchup? Are you serious?? If McCain taps Romney, Biden will have "Central Casting" stuttering like Miss South Carolina in a head-to-head debate. He (Central Casting) will have to issue a disclaimer before the debate... "I'm not really a politician, although I play one on TV".

based on what?....i cited 3 fairly recent examples of biden foot-in-mouth syndrome....

you cited a biased "opinion"?.....i got news for you....it`s gonna take more in debates than "8 more years of bush and mccain"...

but to just dismiss a smart guy like romney is partisan hackery...in truth,if mccain picks romney, both tickets are completely upside down,imo...

you guys are amazing...you discount people based on being "to attractive" or "to successful" ?

do some reading....romney`s an extremely accomplished man in the public and private sectors...

btw...biden had better lose the house cliches after seeing pictures of that amazing compound(remember, being successful is a felony in the warped liberal mind).......and the change mantra just took a hit(35 years in d.c).....

i kinda like biden....but i hate barack(an empty/suit slogan) ....biden and hillary both admitted that mccain has what it takes and bock doesn`t...it`s on tape and i guarantee you`ll see it time and again...

and speaking of hillary....they didn`t even vet her for v.p.....i don`t know what else bock and the dnc can do to shit on the most successful democrat duo in over 4 decades, but,if anyone thinks hillary and bill aren`t gonna get some payback, they don`t know the clintons...she`s looking to 2012...and a successful bock presidency doesn`t help her...

the dems are doing basically everyting they can to blow a slam dunk opportunity...

maybe they`ll post some photos of bock and rev. wright...or maybe farakhan.....that`ll go over big with the "white working class"(haskell- speak for rednecks).....

i heard this morning that biden is a new name to the young college educated voter that is part of bock`s base...

a new name?....a high profile guy like biden is a "new name" to college educated americans?...

an utter embarrassment... a testament to the fact that having a college degree means that you`ve been "extensively schooled",not "highly educated".......
