the "public" bets 80% on team A and the "public" bets 20% on team B.

"PUBLIC" BET team A.

yes, it matters. the majority loses.

you can almost have a system that's as good as any other system out there betting this way.

I remember a poster tracked 'public' betting from sportsbook.com He did it for NFL games and bet on a team whenever the 'public' was more than 85% on one team. I cannot remember the exact details, but it seems to be true most of the time.

after all this, did anyone actually answer my initial question?

there is a certain pay site that uses

sportbet
sportsbook.com
carib
betus

couple of others

etc etc......

they have tried to spam the forum and have been banned.

as alluded to in prior posts above, public betting cannot be gauged by a website vs sharp betting, since the sportsbooks will not release that info.

so to answer your initial question of what public money is and what,

NO

Jack, you nailed it. And I am and try to be an, "ANTI PUBLIC BETTOR" as much as possible. Seems like public is ALWAYS losing on bets like this.. 80% or higher.... Seems like it at least. 5 games out of 5 games in NFL and NCAAF have let the books win on "public money" this week, starting with Sun night's NFL, then MNF, and the 3 NCAAF games Wed, Thur, and Fri. ALL dogs covered and all favorites moved 1.5 -2.5 pts with the public pushing the lines with all their money.

I believe in this and I know my wife does and she doesnt even bet! (But I still am not working at a "real job." Just doing this, trading penny stocks, (another quick fix high rush gamble), and trading other normal stocks....

My hard-drive crashed and I lost all my bookmarks. I'm looking for a website that shows where the publics $ is,

Help anyone, thanks

I consider "public money" as line movements of 2 pts or more in college or pro football without having any injuries, weather, or lineup changes and being line movements based on money pouring in on one side or total that forces the books to adjust the line.

I heard and do not know if this is true, that every 250,000.00 bet one way more than the other way pushes the line 1/2 pt.... Not sure if its true but it does make sense....

Depends completely on the book and what type of handle they take in. For a big offshore like Pinny, this figure might be true. For Joe Local at the Tavern, might be a few hundred bucks. All about their total amount of action.

Agree with that..... Even Wendover NV on the border of Utah (2hr drive from SLC) jacks up Utah teams and Denver Bronc games more than probably other casinos throughout the world since Utah peeps continue to bet on them with their hearts. And we can't forget about the Utah Jazz....

this is very true for locals as they can do whatever they want with lines because there is limited if any competition.

offshores have to stay very constant with each other and rarely will you see huge differences in lines. even though one book may be heavy on one side they will be hard pressed to move much and never over a key number as the middlers and scalpers would eat them alive and overexpose them. at least those books with any kind of limits.
