ATTN: NEED HELP WITH DISNEY WORLD QUESTIONS??

Ok, going to take the wife and the kids there in April. Haven't been there in over 20 years, and like everything else stuff changes.

So the questions I have are the following:

1. Planning on staying on property and booking through Disney.com to get package deal and a PARK HOPPER pass, so the propertys are all priced differently.

I have it narrowed to The Beach Club Resort
or the Boardwalk Inn Resort or Yacht Club Resort.

Also have thought about going cheaper and staying at one of the Value Resorts such as the Pop Century Resort or Allstar Sports Resort

2. Should I get the Dining package to save on meals?

3. Has anyone stayed at any of these and which should I do?

I looked on Tripadvisor.com and looked at reviews but of course they our all over the board.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Do NOT stay at any of the three so-called 'value resorts.' A Motel 6 is literally more appealing as far as the actual room goes.

I agree with Matt,


We stayed at All-Star sports. If you are looking for a room to store your clothes and sleep, that's all your getting...NO amenities...

for us it was fine, kids were 3 and 4...

We did not do the dining package b/c of kids ages...

I guess it depends on kids ages....Character bkfst was great for the kids...characters come up to the table while you are eating and sign autographbooks and take pictures....

We are going back in a couple of weeks12/7 - 12/12..kids are 8, 7 and almost 3, so total differenct package we were looking for...

having dinner at cinderall's castle on the 10th..have to call 6 months in advance to get tickets..and I MEAN ...CALL 6 months to the day to reserve..

staying at Doubletee by universal, got 4 nights for 80 bucks,have to listen to time-share speech...kurby :confused:

and will commute to Disney. gonna spend 4 days at disney and one at Universal...

bring lots of 'spending money'...they get you for everything...

I did one of those time-share things like 9 or 10 years ago with my girlfriend at that time. I came out of it saying that NOTHING, no hotel savings, no nothing, was worth going through that shit and dealing with the total assholes at the exit door that basically wouldn't let you leave under the threat that if we left, we'd be paying the full hotel rate, wherever we were staying that time. (I don't remember-it wasn't a Disney property, I don't think)

Hopefully the one you're going to is different, but man, that shit was terrible. 4 hours of some ridiculous speeches in a hot fucking conference room from a bunch of tools. I'm sure there are reputable and reasonable time-share seminars, or whatever, out there, but NEVER again for me.

Maybe things have changed, hopefully.

Whatever the case, i'm sure you'll have a great trip.

I ended up staying at that music one through no choice of my own 3 or 4 years ago. I won't bore everyone with how that happened, but it was a disgusting room. Very dark. Dirty.

Anyone know aboyut the swan or dolphin?? I'm going in mid december w/ my 3yo and was thinking of an epcot view room at one of those.

you can't go wrong at the dolphin or swan, although business oriented.

Moderate accommodations at Caribbean beach or Dixie landings are good for young children.

Boardwalk is great, and ESPN zone is on the boardwalk.

Hi Jamaica...my 2 cents...

1. 1st, be sure to check on the promotion they have right now. I believe it goes through April. Pay for 4 nights and get 1,2 or 3 nights free. A 7 night stay is the same price as a 4 night stay. You must stay at least 5 nights.
The Hopper pass is great if you plan on moving around from park to park. If you can stay with a set schedule and stay at a park for that day and not have to hop, you can save about $45 per person by not adding the Hopper feature. One park for that day. It can save quite a bit. A tough call.

You've selected 3 very nice resorts. Any of the 3 is a fine choice. I personally have stayed at Boardwalk Inn. Nice sized rooms. Right there close to the ESPN Zone and next to Epcot. 9PM sharp is Epcot's fireworks show, "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth". If you come back to the room early from one of the other parks, you can rest assured, that show will start dead-on 9PM and you can watch it from the boardwalk right there on the water.

If you're coming all the way from Oklahoma, please don't stay at a value resort. You see what everyone else is saying. Caribbean Beach, Coronado or one of the Port Orleans is only about $60 more per night. If you have the extra cash though, try one of your original 3. JMO.

2. You have to pay for it up front but the regular dining plan is the way to go. The Deluxe plan is b-fast, lunch and dinner. That's a minimum of 3 hours per day eating! Never have figured out why people do that unless they're double-dipping for the Hoopdie Do Review or the luau at the Polynesian. You will save in the long run, I guarantee it!

3. See 1 :)

I was just at Disney 3 weeks ago for my kids' fall break. They are 12 and 9(my little one is 9 today BTW :00hour ).There's a new Toy Story ride at Hollywood Studios you have to go on. Be there when the park opens and RUN to it! Later in the day, when we were there, I saw a new world record for a wait on a Disney ride...200 mins for this ride!! I couldn't believe it. Fast Pass it when you get there and then hop in the regular line and wait maybe 20-30 mins. It's worth it.

Here I go rambling again. Feel free to ask any other questions. There are plenty here, including myself, that can help with your trip.

You can't go wrong staying at any of those three.

We stayed at the Yacht Club Resort last Christmas & loved it, best location of any Disney property we stayed at in the past.

As far as the food goes we never get the dinning package it limits your dinning choices.
