Huge Steeler fan and when he did it, I was why the fuck would you do that!?!? There's 15 yards when you could have been off the field.

i can see why he hit him. Before you tackle someone you kind of set up to hit seconds before. He was already on the way to hit him when the ball was deflected. It all happens within seconds of each other. I can see why they called it though but I also see the other side. I think it was a tough call.

Although he did not hit him helmet to helmet. All shoulder.

:scared

typical pussy db hit, catch the smallest guy on the team up in the Air not looking, totally defenseless and unload on him. Takes lots of courage. Same guy would never square up a rb on a running play & make a tackle, he'd either waive his arm, or look to cut him, but certainly not go head to head, man up & make a tackle.

I agree, and that had to be painful. Usually how a guy seriously gets hurt either way. Play was incomplete and add a penalty to it, stupid on all accounts. He could have hurt himself too.

Classless punk. I'd like to see Ryan Clark in the same room alone with Vince Wilfork. He'd p*ss his pants.

Vince is probably going to get fined, he called him out on the radio today. Said it was talk about couple Times during film this week, that that guy likes taking shots if he can get them. Several LSU guys on Patriots faulk, Alexander, green, all say he's famous for that. Against the run though he's a regular Dion Sanders.

I don't see a big problem with it. If you go across the middle you better be ready to take a hit. He did not lead with his helmet.

you might not see any problem with it, but the "defenseless receiver rule" has been in the NFL since 2003.

I cant blame Clark at all.... he expected that ball to be caught if it were not tipped by Polamalu.

Wtf would anyone else do? Sit there playing pocket pool, making sure the ball wouldnt be tipped?? Hell no, you line up expecting that ball to be caught, and make a clean hit (clearly not helmet to helmet contact in this situation). That was a bullet thrown right at a hard-nosed, speedy receiver (Welker) who was GONE if the ball were caught and Clark missed the tackle.

Unfortunate situation: yes. Bad call (unnecessary roughness): no, but that is enough... no fine should be given.

:director: If it _were_ helmet-to-helmet, then i say shoot the fucker. :)

If anyone was at fault, it was Cassell, for throwing a dangerous pass IMO.

I don't think I stated that the refs were in the wrong.

I do think he will be incorrectly fined which sucks.
